Interesting idea!
Mine is 62, but I have 4 years of strava data now, which I guess is more than most.
Although, there are 5-6 of my longest rides which were multi-day camping trips so if i split them into individual rides I could up my score by 2-3.

xdcx: do you fancy doing a 2-up TT on sunday? only 2 teams from the club so far and we could do with a better showing for one of our own races. 24 miles, quite lumpy so we'd be fine on road bikes.

17 :o All being well it will be 20 by the end of the week!

If you upload multiple rides in a day and don't change the standard name then it gets confused and counts it as one ride! Not that it made any difference to my result though.

It's miles in a day, not just a single ride. It confused me for a bit as I have a couple of multi ride days.

I am definitely keen!
Can you get out this week after work? I am out every night and planning Thursday APR, I will go look up the info on the TT just now.

Oh and race license I will be sorting tomorrow as it is the start of 50% license fee :p I'll just get my club membership done as well, just going to email your membership dude and see what the script is.

Mine's 52. Kind of expected it to be higher given the amount of ride spamming I do.

Nope, because although you ride a lot most of your days must not top 52!

Mines 52 as well, probbaly should be higher given I split a lot of rides up.

Nope, because it's to do with total miles per day, so my 2 rides of 38 miles to and from Holme Moss for the TdF last year count as a day of 76 miles.

Eddington of 56 for me. 11 of 60+ to get to 60, 37 for 70, 56 for 80. Think that will be a long time coming as most of my rides are about 50 or so miles nowadays. Although going to aim for a century this Saturday!

27 here. Didn't realise it was miles in a day though, interesting.

Had my bike fit done on the Friday. I'll write a more lengthy post with the results, as soon as I get a bit of time. Work has been manic, and my computer room was 30'C+ last night :O
Long, and the short of it: I need smaller shoes, a wider saddle.........oh and a new bike :P Very interesting experience though, a lot more complex that the Retul fitting I had last year. Also a painful experience, 2hrs on a turbo in this kind of weather wasn't pleasant :P

So if anyone is interested in buying a second hand Planet X Pro Carbon (48 frame), give me a nudge :)

My E number for 2015 alone would be quite low I reckon.

Last year I was banging out long rides nearly every weekend, doing 200 miles total for most weeks. This year I've been trying to do lower volume, higher intensity.

I feel like I was stronger when I used to do more long/hilly rides but as much as I enjoy riding, spending 5-6h in the saddle every weekend around similar routes really starts to become a bit tedious, especially if you are solo.

Maybe it's the right time to join a club to take my riding to the next level...

I have a lot of Strava data and ride most days so bit higher than some.

Your cycling Eddington number is 63.

According to your Strava data, you've cycled 63+ miles on 63 different days.

To reach an Eddington number of 70, you need 21 more rides of 70+ miles.
To reach an Eddington number of 80, you need 44 more rides of 80+ miles.
To reach an Eddington number of 90, you need 65 more rides of 90+ miles.

I'm thinking about recording all of our charity ride to France next weekend as one ride. Do you think my Garmin 500 will handle 425 miles over 4 days? I should be able to charge it up most nights but would hate for it to crash after 201 miles or something.

Am I best off saving each days file and joining them up when I get home?

its next to impossible to say if it will crash haha :) I'd say join them up..

I'd personally save them separately and join them up. My 209 mile ride a few weeks ago had a crash (Garmin 810) about 2/3rds of the way through but the Garmin recovered okay. I've seen situations on shorter rides where it hasn't done though.

For the small hassle of joining up the rides it's better to not take the chance of losing the recording imo.

Commute in this morning, amazing weather! 15/16 degrees even at 7:30am! It's meant to top 30 degrees here today, fingers crossed the slight breezes we have continue so it's not an utter sauna to ride home in later.

My birthday today :D

So far nothing exciting (cycling wise) apart from items I've bought myself as 'presents' from others - Northwave Arctic GTX boots & high viz DHB jersey. My missus got me Rugby union tickets in the autumn to see Wales play Ireland in the Millenium Stadium which I'm pretty stoked about! Not quite the 6N as i'm sure they were 3x the price! :D

I'm giving this discussion a wide berth. Seeing as I'm apparently a freak in the clothing department too.
<snip>
335 FTP it reckons but I know that the raw number doesn't mean squat except as a base to compare future results against. I'm just glad I got the first go in. I've been putting it off for ages. Lets see how much it improves by the time I go to Majorca again next May. Hoping to drop to 75-80kg too (from 98ish) by then as well.

My clothing taste has been called into question a couple of times here too, mostly over this jersey (which I've got and love!) ;)

Good FTP result, judging by your weight/power you're probably quite a sprinter! I was around that weight 3ish years ago (down to 81kg now) and always loved a good sprint - I've got short powerful legs as I'm quite short (5'7") though! I found it quite hard to 'transition' over to riding more hills but I'm getting there :)

I caught the sun today... White shoulders, red arms. Whoops.

Rule #7.

I'm continuing to refine mine after my week away in the sun.

OK, the new sensation sweeping the nation... Or at least getting half a dozen responses on a thread on road.cc

What is your Eddington number?

22 here which sounds about right - up until 10 months ago 90% of my riding was my 8 miles a day commuting. I'm not far off ticking 25 and would be very surprised if I don't hit 30 towards the end of the year!

Your cycling Eddington number is 22.

According to your Strava data, you've cycled 22+ miles on 22 different days.

To reach an Eddington number of 25, you need 4 more rides of 25+ miles.
To reach an Eddington number of 30, you need 17 more rides of 30+ miles.
To reach an Eddington number of 35, you need 31 more rides of 35+ miles.
Keep going!

Definately split, much safer that way! If it were me I'd probably log them on my Garmin AND IpBike on my mobile as I'd hate to lose even part of the ride (and I don't trust Garmin/Strava very much). ;)
