You'd be pretty competitive at 3rd cat level with that sort of pace I'd imagine, even more so if you've got any decent kind of kick.

Agreed. I'm a 3rd cat and my fastest 10 is 23:13. I have absolutely zero kick either :(

Been almost a year since I last tried racing. Just not comfortable in the bunch, always expecting the next crash!
Get out of the bunch then :p With a TT ability like that you could just go for a solo break from the start and stay away.

Yeah, my quickest this year is 22:14, albeit on a fairly slow course.

Good reason to get road racing, and into some breaks!

single speeding...

kinda like the bike! feels very, connected? hard to explain but it's a different feel to geared bikes and it's not just the fact that you have no gears! it's kinda enjoyable to ride really, not sure if it's the frame set or the gearing or??!

That on your Pompino? I do find mine feels very direct in terms of how the pedalling feels. Maybe it's to do with the slack in a full drivetrain. I ought to ride my single speed back to back with one of my geared bikes one day, do the same short loop or something, to see how they feel and what differences I notice.

I do think the steel frame and big tyres (28s on mine) help with the ride quality as well. It's very smooth.

I really like it as a bike overall. I can definitely see a place for another single speed bike in time, maybe something like the Genesis Flyer.

yeah, my other SS is under covers outside, need to sell it.. :o

it was super smooth on 28's here, moved to 23c's now and kinda miss the comfort, next set is going to be 25c! just best over-all size in my opinion :)

running liuthium 2's on it right now and they're quite grippy!

I'm still very tempted with a full diskbrake/ss with mudguards etc for the winter :o:D

I'm very impressed with my 25mm Lithion 2's.

I've been trying to justify a single speed to myself and I think I've found where it would fit. Bin the hybrid that I use for winter and replace it with a SS with full guards.

A) I won't be fussed about any lack of pace in the winter.
B) Single speed is a peach to keep clean with the winter grime.
C) I don't really like my hybrid (nothing against hybrids, I just don't like this one :o )
D) New bike justification complete :p

Pouring rain and howling winds mean it's still sat indoors!

Need to set up height/saddle etc properly but all good to go when the weather plays ball.

Beautiful bike in the flesh, no marks anywhere and can't wait to get it outside!

Was it someone in here that posted about getting sunglasses from aliexpress with interchangable lenses that you could send to an optician to get them to make an "interior" prescription lens for?

Yeah, it was a maybe :) because Oakley's do proper lenses and cheap Chinese kickoffs are pretty much the same so "maybe" the official lenses will fit

Went out after work for my first ride in 5 weeks due to a knee injury and recovering from a chest infection (still not 100%)....my god it was hard work :D

Only managed a 15mile 1200ft which is what i would consider a smidgen over my normal warm up. Suppose to be doing a sportive next week but need to shift this cough!

Had a nice ride this morning to work only to be presented with glued locks! A D-lock kryptonite new york and a chain lock ffs. Usually leaves the lock because of the weights, thank god no bike was locked while glued. Going to try acetone on break. ****ed me right off. Parked in the warehouse at work and considering keeping it there in the future.

OK, I suppose i can always avoid certain combos! Now I need to go find a decent extending ratchet to get the existing one off!

FSA Components should be renamed FFS.

Eventually removed my crankset arm after visiting my LBS because I couldn't get it loose. Realised when I got home it actually loosens the opposite way to what it says! :roll eyes:

After removal I went to remove the bottom bracket. I go to fit the park tools BBT-9 tool and what happens? it doesn't fit. It looks like it should, but it definitely doesn't!

So after all that it now looks like I need another tool just to remove the cups. Amazingly, it appears the BBT-9 tool does fit on the FSA MegaExo BB cups, but not on the FSA MegaEVO.

Why isn't there somewhere online clearly explaining what is/isn't compatible
