They were both as bad as one another to be honest. If that was a close pass, that cyclist want's to try cycling round here, I consider that an average pass.
Certainly didn't warrant chasing the dude.

Normally I would agree but this guy was clearly a tool.

I also think the pass looked less bad than it was due to the angle of the camera.

Nice to see the plank getting his comeuppance.

However, the cyclist had no idea if the bloke is going get out the car with a bat, knife or other weapon. It's all very well being in the right but if you try to point that out to a nutter who is having a bad day, it's not going to end well. Witness the poor guy who got stabbed to death in Sussex the other week :(

Is there any way to crop out just a small section of a ride rather than start->end in Strava?

Finished a ride, uploaded, and turns out I got a KOM on Whitedowns Lane climb. That's definitely GPS error! Marked as private for now.

I'm not a fan of the number plate rectiting brigade either and I wouldn't class that as a close pass.

I have a customer who was telling me about a time he ended up giving a guy a hand signal meaning to go pleasure himself. The guy ended up forcing him into a ditch and battering seven shades of ****e out of him.

He turned out to be some sort of Glasgow gang chap and the police couldn't do anything because he had his wife and kids in the car.

Just not worth it really. I nearly got pulled in front of the other night but I just put my hand up off the bars to thank him for not doing it :)

Indeed. As funny as the video is, i don't think the cyclist covers himself in glory particularly. It wasn't a terribly close pass and the guy wasn't travelling at speed. If i reacted like that to every similar pass i experience commuting i'd never get anywhere and have two black eyes by now.

And the fact the cyclist actually chases him down to have a go, it was always going to get messy. Sometimes i think you just need a bit of give and take on the road. I've seen cyclists having a go at a driver whose front wheel has encroached on the box for cyclists at a junction. It's just not necessary.

guys I think you're missing the fact that cameras make the passes look way further than they really are! :) even this -;

doesn't look TOO close yet he touched my elbow so I'd say before you judge the closeness of it, take the camera lense etc in mind!

as far as chassing him down etc goes yeah, I don't see the point of it! I will have a few words with a driver if I catch up with him in the traffic later on but I don't chase after people.

both were asking for trouble but the driver was just a dribbling fatsob that totally has no idea of highway code or basics of driving

Personally i thought the drivers response to what was in the highway code with regards to cyclists was the best bit! Quality 'bants'. :D

borrowed Frenchtart's Cotic frameset to try out steel before I choose what my next build is

Did you report it to the police, you can do it online and submit the video.

Strava took over a month to respond to a ticket I raised with them - and now they've closed the ticket without resolving it!

They've just guaranteed I'll never be a paying member, I've actually had better support from EA.

How's the bike? Ended up having to change the gear cables. Fitted jagwire stainless and the gears felt ****. Ended up with shimano inners which made it feel as it should when new.

These guys were handing out flyers at a TT this morning.

Seriously contemplating one for my new TT bike for next year. Was already going to get some custom stickers for the wheel and potentially custom paint job. This is getting expensive :P

Haven't actually had a go on it yet - will ride it into work tomorrow and let you know. All looks fine though, thanks.

Funny about the jagwire stuff, wonder why that would be? Didn't think they were particularly different.
