Loosen stem bolts, tighten up top cap until play is *just* eliminated, tighten stem bolts.

If tightening the top cap fully does not eliminate the play, you'll need to add a spacer on top of the stem to give you a bit more adjustment room.

Probably just needs tightened.

1 loosen the pinch bolts on the stem
2 tighten top cap bolt
3 do up the stem bolts again.

I wondered when Rob S was going to attempt a hot lap considering he's won every RP TT since time immemorial.

Thomas smashed his way into the top 30 for that segment too.

Maybe he'll go for the 3-lap challenge KoM next?

Yeah I think he's had his eye on a quick lap for a while just as a fun goal, just about waiting for the right wind/conditions. I went out earlier in the evening and got top 30, which I think showed conditions were good.

Chatting to him not sure he's interested in a 3 lap tbh, it's a proper investment of effort, whereas one lap isn't too bad.

As mentioned, although many stems will have a max torque rating, stem caps too. I know my stem does (6.5) and the top cap 7 - which I have to go past (to a bit less than 8) to get it to stay tight...

@Jono 11-28 will be fine on your rear mech. As said hills will be a tiny bit easier and top speed will be improved if you've got the legs to get the most out of the 11t.

Off for a quick ride up Brickworks and Blaze Hill. My legs are pretty tired (still!) from last week and I've got ridiculous saddle-soreness. I'm also feeling wrecked from a particularly tough weight session. I can almost feel the PRs I'm not going to get :p

I know its not really nothing to do with my, but my friend has tried the "Everest Challenge" where he attempted to cycle it in one day, one sitting! He managed 23685ft in one day, 13 hours and 117 miles.. He failed but he said he is going to try again. Its the most climbing I have ever seen on Strava.. Anyone else got similar? Its just insane really!!

I'm going to try Everesting the hill I grew up on next May - sounds awful :D

Went for a ride up Cat & Fiddle East of Macclesfield on Saturday at long last, was glorious! new fav climb, although I think we were lucky with weather, I imagine it gets quite cold/horrid at the top in winter.

Stopped at the Peak View Tearooms for a slice of cake and coffee (had like 8 different cakes to choose from!) was delicious.

Looking forward to giving it a good fast attempt at somepoint.

Had a pretty good weekend, despite working most of it :/ Still managed to get out for a quick 25-miler on the Sunday, and worked from home Saturday, so even had a rest day this week :)

I'm due to work for atleast the next 3 weekends (possibly longer), as I'm in them middle of upgrading the company's network (Windows 2000 domain, fun fun fun).
So to compensate the lack of spare time, I've been extending my morning and afternoon commutes. I'm certainly noticing the increase in daily climbing, so much so that I've just ordered a 11-32 cassette, and a longer rear mech cage :P
I was however, rewarded with my efforts this morning. I approached the summit of a climb to find 3 fawn crossing the road. They changed they're minds when they heard me, and legged it back from where they came. Wish I had the Virb on!

Still haven't found a new bike, but I've only visited one bike shop since my last post. I'm going to email around with my bike fitting report, and see if I can find a shop that can work with it.

Will you also need to change your chain?
