Basically what I'm saying is that if Ian Stannard needed to adjust the fit on his bike because his knee warmers were snagging on the bars while he was leading the race in the Tour of Flanders, he'd reach for the professional one.
lol, quote of the day :D

Thief! I'm reporting to FT! ;)

Not usually a fan of white arm warmers/white arms but actually looks ok. Goes well with the white knees and other gear! Lookin trim mr C! Quads similar to mine, random but do you have a problem with getting trousers to fit?
Certainly seems to be the case here. I can't downshift it very far at all, and I shone a torch down the barrel... can just about see some frayed cable which probably means the cable end is there too.

No idea how I'm going to remove it really. Shame as I'm only on 30 miles for the week... hopefully I can get it fixed by the weekend.
The cable outer will come out of the back of the shifter but that will mean removing bar tape. You might find it easier to 'fish' the end out of the shifter side with some long nose pliers/tweezers or another piece of wire if you didn't fancy removing bar tape. Some shifters also have an inside 'flap' to help with feeding the cable from the one side of the shifter down the outer, you might be able to grab it there.

Oh also, if you can see it from the end you might be able to push it with something? It'll then pop out the shifter side!

Well, it's cold outside, we don't all just sit on our trainers! ;)

Got to love the clocks going back and some sunny weather :)
BOOM!

Wait. WUT. The clocks went BACK?! I wondered why I'd been early to work the last few weeks... :o:p

So I'm looking for a new jersey. Short sleeve.

I was looking at the Castelli Perfetto, because it has been a bit windy here recently, and it's still not super warm. Also, if I get caught in the rain, it will keep me a bit dry. It's less heavy than a normal Gabba basically. Or: I could just go for a normal jersey. Like an Entrata. But I'm thinking to LBL here, long day on the bike, lots of changeable weather is possible.

I will of course be using black knee and arm warmers ;)

When I went out last weekend I had base layer, Jersey, windproof jacket, bib shorts and winter leggings on. If it's below 15c cover the knees:)

I've not seen Thom's bike from the side before. I'm so used to seeing his rear wheel way ahead in the distance!:D:o:(

:p maybe if you give up that running and swimming lark you'll be able to keep up!

Looking good there Thomas!

How are you finding the Rotor 3D+ cranks? (Asking as I really want to get them when I pick up a P2M)

Yeah I wouldn't use anything else. Had a set since 2013, and despite regularly taking them off to switch bikes they've been flawless, and feel super stiff. The way they assemble and disassemble is superb as well, no brute force required at all.

Finally got two sets and two PMs now so no need to keep taking them off at least!

Excellent. They sound amazing then!

Tried all sorts last night and this morning with no luck. Can see frayed cable inside it but can't fish it out and conveniently all the bike shops are booked up :( I've left it with the second one I tried and they said they'll see if they get a free moment today but it's unlikely. So annoying as I was hoping to ride today and tomorrow!

You can combat 90% of strong winds with a gilet over whatever you want to wear for the temperatures. You're right in looking at short sleeve/warmers combo though.

The Perfetto seems very well matched to the Sportful Fiandre Light Jersey which is quite a bit cheaper and has been around longer (you'll find more real world reviews of it). As for actual real world comparisons between the two, I haven't seen any. Stolen Goat also do a wind/water s/s jersey (Orkaan). Ideally you need a site which reviews them all and hopefully compares them against each other. RCUK has several reviews but no comparison, although they did an article on the 'gabbalike' jerseys around. Vermarc Aqua, Castelli Alpha, Gore Oxygen WS, Santini Reef and Capo Lombardia all spring to mind (good article here from last year), although there's probably loads more around now too (like the Orkaan).

Off work today...weather isn't looking great and I'm feeling lazy but..hmmm...cycling is sort of tempting.
Pretty miserable here, the 'light drizzle' on my weather app was better described as 'medium rain'. Damp legs but Sidi boots kept my feet dry & rain cape over roubaix jersey worked well as the wind was colder than expected.

This might come in handy if it happens again. Sorry, I should have posted this last night when you mentioned it. I read this the other day while googling for how to install my new 5800 kit.

Oh, that's interesting. Thanks!

I did spot that screw but I really didn't want to touch it in case I just made things worse. I was reading that Shimano shifters are pretty unservicable apparently and can't be disassembled much... It looks like that may help me later if the bike shop I left it at have no luck.

To be honest don't have much confidence in this bike shop but they were 2nd choice after first one was too busy... Last time I took it in for a front derailleur alignment they failed to notice the chainrings had become wobbly and that was the whole reason it was having issues in the first place. Even when I took it back the 2nd time complaining the problem had reoccurred. It was after that when I was cleaning it that I noticed the chainrings were moving!

on my 5800 105 shifters, there's an alen key nut at the bottom of the shifter, undo that and it'll all come apart(easy to put back) and remove the cable.

mine snapped too and got stuck inside the shifter, was the only way to remove it..
