Road Cycling

This is entirely wrong. The rear non-drive side is slackest. Rear *drive side* is tightest
You're right, I misread, sorry!
Yeah yeah I know it's not the road, but think I need a rest.

Supreme ride, how was the route/cycle paths/trails?
Yeah..get a pic up of it stood against a wall and I'm sure someone can draw a line on it to show you what I mean :)
Just use a spirit level?

Quoting this edit so Benny doesn't miss it (not that it helps much):
To be honest the RNDS 'sounding slack' can be a bit misleading, the RDS should obviously be much tighter with the RNDS only really providing tension to keep the wheel true. If it hasn't got much then it's not hard to imagine the power transfer from the tight RDS spokes causing the flex (dishing?) you're seeing.

Good grief, I'm sore. I'm not convinced that Cosine saddle is for me... It's got quite a wide nose so I've got some major chafage on the inside of my thighs, and it's not very forgiving going over any bumps, so my arse is well sore. Might have to go back to the Madison flux, or try one of the new fabric ones.

Quite an unusually long ride for you yesterday, unless I'm mistaken? Might have something to do with being unusually sore?

Generally I find with long rides as I start to fatigue and get tired my focus goes a bit so not only do I avoid less bumps in the road but also my ability to stay light in the saddle over them deteriorates. So I hit more bumps and also take more 'direct hits' too :o

Ta, Roady. Not seeing dishing but just flex under load, unless that's what you meant.

I just happened to buy a bulk of the HIGH5 electrolytes. I forgot to order the other day while I was looking at inner soles (which I still haven't ordered), so got 18 tubes today. Should keep me going. Tropical, cherry orange and 3 XTREME ones!

Managed to squeeze a flat 60km in yesterday between work, which is nice. Though while not eating much, I woke up this morning tired. I'm sure my salad lunch will help. :/

That's it, hit some rough tarmac when you're tired and it's twice as bad as when you're fresh, just saps all your speed and strength.

Kids are back at school so everyone is now sick, had a bloody cough and cold all week, been taking the drugs and still riding easy. Was a local event with 4-5 clubs coming together at the weekend I wanted to ride the TT and road race in. Even glued up my tubulars for it!

Internet forum spirit level is generally a bit more critical :p
Lol, usually quicker to operate too!

There an app for it too! (note: never used it).

I used dishing merely as a way to try and describe the direction of the flex :)

I always find a salad 'fleshed out' with extra pasta/couscous to be better for me when riding more. Although I've become quite slack about extra 'fuel' recently - with the loss of time due to moving & DIY I've been really lax about extra calories even when trying to maintain 100+ miles a week. Need to sort it out as noticed (again) my work belt needs some tighter holes, weighed myself last night (first time in ~2 months) and I'm down to 73.8kg!

A bit lighter than I ideally want to be - I wanted to keep around 75kg. Need a few slightly bigger portions and get back into the habit of snacking on nuts (no time for snacks, generally more tired than hungry in the evenings)!

Hope I've not lost riding muscle/condition too much, this time last year I'd hit more big sportives but my weekly mileage was 60-80 miles. Need to do some focused training rather than the 'quick go for a ride'/opportunistic Bike Club I have been doing...

MOAR CAKE!

A few photos of the route I did this morning up to the reservoir (Embassament del Gorg blau) near Puig Major from pollenca old town.

You can have some of my Kgs Roady, no problem!
Sure, send it over! Maybe that way you'll get faster! :D:p
Doh, Roady beat me to it, I posted the same thing in the pro cycling thread :o
;)

Such an awesome ride & really pleased for him. It's extra special when a 'local' rider can use local knowledge to his/her advantage to perform like that - really does show how much head and shoulders above us mere mortals they are!

Couple of KOM's there for some of you to aim for! ;)

EDIT: Power data is still in the ride, unsure if that's real power and not Strava estimated (it's not marked with the power symbol so assuming the latter)?! Interesting to see him hitting 500W on the climbs he was distancing others on, but then still able to hammer out 300W for the other parts. :o

So jealous!
