Road Cycling

Just realised I'm staying at Richmond Park next week. Might take the TT bike up and see what time I can do :D
Literally staying in the park?

You'd want to go early morning or late/dark. Traffic is insane in their recently. I just went at lunchtime today and spent half a lap dawdling behind a queue of cars.

What's the sizing like on these?
Italian.. so size up. Shame as I'd need a Large and that's the only size their OOS.

Roady, answer my question :P
Reply to SoliD's question :p
Sheesh! Scroll back girls! :p

Bambino's were (I think) £130. Not sure on Rims, flier sent out lists ENVE 2.2, 25, 3.4, 4.5, 6.7, 7.8. didn't see anything smaller than 4.5 left. No idea on pricing but could find out.
You dont need a DA right crank for a DA left crank, but it does need to be shimano
Spindle not being shimano I'm guessing would flex/deflect more (especially being FSA!) screwing the readings from the left arm...
What's the sizing like on these?
Usual Castelli (I'm guessing), basically L is tight/aero on me (but good for summer), XL is good for thicker/winter style. Comparatively I'm an M-L in DHB. A L in Northwave and L-XL in Sportful. I'm a 32" waist (but wear a 32" trouser to fit my thighs in).

How do you normally size and what brands?

This must be edited! :D Why is this so far away. Enve 7 front wheel would be ideal, and if that is the 2016 bambino I'd definitely take one!

My first proper introduction into the world of HR straps didn't go well. 30 minutes to try and get the thing to connect. 20 minutes of random readings and then it just disconnected  On the plus side the wrist based heart rate took over and actually did a decent job.

Currently trying to sort a replacement strap.

EDIT - That was painless, swap service delivered to my work address

Was edited but Bambino info was part of the first or second edit (I'm trying to edit more rather than lots of posts as I know people get annoyed enough with my spam already lol)

It's so far away because the Pro teams HQ & workshop is in Hereford...? :p

If I go on a jolly/jaunt tomorrow I might swing back by there and check pricing, they did have a load of lists of prices but I was kinda rushed and only looked at what stock was on the tables & helmets... Will message you if so!

What brand and which strap?
On Sora 2x9 atm and looking to take a step up to 2x10 Tiagra or 105.

HELP! :)
Would need to know particular models to say for sure... But...

Link to Shimano's current range hierarchy.

Generally the Shimano groupsets with the same speeds are interchangeable, so switching from 9 speed to 10 speed would involve changing the cassette and right shifter. You could get away with leaving the left... But it might look odd! The FD should be ok providing you're staying double as the index between compact/compact-semi should be somewhere near, the only exception would be a shifter indexed with a much older groupset (with much less gears so a wider chain).

There are cases where some of the 9 speed shifters will work with a 10 speed cassette but you would probably have a 'mare indexing the thing (and would have to index it missing the top or bottom cassette ring). So not recommended for a long term 'solution'!

With either of those moves you'll need to swap everything pretty much. I'd recommend 105 5800 for future compatibility. Your wheels may not support 11 speed though...

Tbh you might be better off buying a whole new bike. What is it you're planning to upgrade?

What brand and which strap?

Garmin HRM-Run, came with the fenix. I tried it snug, I tried it so tight I couldn't move, tried it higher, lower, damp, soaked, dry, tried a new battery despite it being brand new.... in 30 minutes of faffing I got it to connect once.

On the bike it lasted connected for about 10 minutes, gave some dodgy readings then disconnected again. I was doing a 10 mile loop and I was so cheesed off with the thing that I stopped back at the car and slung it in the boot before doing the second 10 miles :o

honestly, why unless it's worn out? upgraditis?

Got to agree TBH. I'm on my second year with Sora 9 speed and it is great. Shifts well, has proper levers (no thumb shifters :p ) the only thing I can fault are the long drop calipers which are lacking when you are on the hoods but workable in the drops.

Cheers for the Merlin info. I worked out a 3 box version for £907 by buying individual components (mostly CRC + BC). Merlin FD + RD would bring it down to £867...almost as cheap as uv got his for pre-Brexit :p
