Cheers for the Merlin info. I worked out a 3 box version for £907 by buying individual components (mostly CRC + BC). Merlin FD + RD would bring it down to £867...almost as cheap as uv got his for pre-Brexit :p

I got wiggle to price match the 110 as better cashback rate. Now just trying to figure out if I should get them whilst cheap and pick up the other bits as they come up or wait and hope it all comes down in price.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Planet X Pro Carbon?

It's come up for sale over the weekend for £699 witha SRAM Rival 22 Groupset.

Currently riding a Giant Defy 3 2013 with a Sora Groupset. Would the Pro Carbon be much of an upgrade and worth the expense?

The pro carbon has been around forever. It's quite possibly the most common carbon road bike in the country.

Take from that what you will....

First foray into Di2 has commenced!

You guys who use SPDs, if you want to alter the cleat angle when they've been on the shoe for a while, what's the best way to do this? The cleat has pressed the shape of its gripper into the bottom of the shoe, so when I try to do the bolts up with the cleat in the new position it simply slips into its original indent. There doesn't seem to be an easy way around this. Is there like a cleat jig/wrench/holder or anything I can use?

Just about to do the same. Shame that it's short cage only though :/

When I did this I just held the cleat in place and very slowly tightened, There was sill some slippage though.

Hi all,

Does anyone use a HR monitor with Strava? do you have any recommendations on which to buy? Also, does it display HR along with the usual time/distance/ avg speed etc when it is connected?

What kind of phone do you have? It can be a bit of a minefield with Android phones + Strava + HRM.

Nice chilled metric this morning. All flat apart from a single cat 4 in the middle. I came back through Tatton Park and saw the deer. Lovely. Averaged 16mph which wasn't bad considering I had the wind in my face for the outward leg. I overtook a pair of cyclists but couldn't make it stick and they then hung onto my wheel for about 5 miles. I was mullered by the time they peeled off before Alderley Edge! I climbed the Wizard and went down Artists Lane and I think I saw then coming up it. Fun times.

Some car driver following me through Tatton Park beeped at me to get out of the way, never mind that I was doing high teens through a park full of walkers, cyclists, herds of deer... It's Tatton Park! It's beautiful! Look out the window! There's a lake and trees and huge open spaces and fricking deer! No, beep beep, get out of the way. I then sat behind them all the way to the car park they were headed to. Morons.

Can't see how this can be BB after ~700 miles and only 3-4 wet rides... :o :(

My MTB lasted 74 miles :p

I caught myself getting a bit too focused on trying to keep my average speed up rather than just enjoying the ride today. Snapped myself out of it by enjoying the view and stopping to take a couple of photos :p

Recovery adviser is an interesting new feature. Apparently I need 72 hours to recover from todays ride  Oh well, that is my excuse for not doing the housework :D

Its a strange mentality isn't it? I often get people up my chuff while going through 20 mph limits doing high teens (which probably shows as 20mph on a car speedo), as soon as they get past though they back off and I'm riding their bumper until the speed limit changes. Its like they can't possibly be behind a bike while they are in a car.

Literally staying in the park?

You'd want to go early morning or late/dark. Traffic is insane in their recently. I just went at lunchtime today and spent half a lap dawdling behind a queue of cars.

Pretty much, Richmond Hill Hotel, will probably go late Tuesday and possibly Wednesday before breakfast, need to see my agenda for the day first.

Ah yeah Doh! Just get a compact for those hilly rides? :D 28 will be fine on a short cage.

Went out with the intention of riding an imperial today, cut it short as the wind was doing my head in, never truly behind me, and kept thinking oh I've got Tough Mudder tomorrow should save something for that :D Glorious weather apart from said wind though, probably not going to get too many days like that.

100 miler, and another ride out to the Peak District to boot. Pretty pleased with todays ride, just me and another guy from the club. Went round to the Roaches.

Chugged down 4 gels and fuelled pretty well so I actually feel quite chipper right now and not actually that tired. Best I've ever felt after a long ride and much improved over last weekends foray in the peaks (Cat and Fiddle) when after 110 km I was totally done. Think it was a virus or something cos I was way off that day. Spot on today, felt strong and could have gone round again (I totally couldn't).

:) Pleased. Warm glow. Sense of achievement.

Well done, looks like a good ride.

My metric ride was fairly chilled, so I only got through my bottles of energy drink and electrolyte and one energy bar. Quite surprised I didn't need more.

Nice riding lads, it's been a nice day for it. Been out myself too, met up with a mate at midday and cycled over Dovestones, Holmfirth, Holme Moss and then followed Woodhead Pass into Glossop before heading home. 34 miles in total and just under 4000ft of elevation. Glad to find a loop I can do on my own from home in the future. Been a pleasure having company on tap the last few weeks.

Nailed today's TT (my first, on the club course) PR'd by 1m40s

So the club TT was this morning, my first TT event, also an open so about 10 riders also there from other local clubs. Had a fantastic time :D

I'd ridden the route recently a few times to get a handle on pacing and familiarise myself with the course, though this always involved a 40 minute ride to & from, in the evening after work. Previous PB was 28:10 and today I managed 26:30, 22.7mpg @ 282w :) (just so happened to be the arbitrary Strava goal I'd set a few weeks back). Live segment flashed up towards the end and couldn't believe it

Good conditions though 10-12mph wind and quite an exposed hilly course with no real significant flat sections. I'd worn a long sleeve pro team jersey and brought a short sleeve with which was just as well as I would have cooked. Nice 10-15 minute warm up on the rollers and rocked up to the start with 90 seconds to spare, quick bit of banter with the club secretary and some one to keep me upright for a 'clipped in start'.

Absolutely flew by. Passed a few people and equally had the lad start behind me come past and then blow up and fall behind. Raced my own TT rather than concerning myself with catching anyone else nor being bothered if I was passed. KOM was achieved today, lad from the Army :o monster.

Really pleased with my pacing, using a combo of both HR and Power. Sat on/around/slightly over THR and then emptied the tank for the last mile

Safe to say the Propel has served it's purpose and this discipline is something I can see myself getting quite in to. Found out my Aunt was Ladies champion (not quite sure to what degree) in 1998 so maybe it's in the blood.
