Road Cycling

will take a look. on initial look, horrible decals:D:D

I'll look tomorrow.

cheers - wasn't having a pop. interested. I'm all for saving money!:D

Can't comment on these but a member from my CC knows the proprietor(s) of Stayer Cycles in London and has promoted them in the group a few times.

Not as cheap but they have a 2 year warranty and a premises you can visit with any issues. I'm not affiliated! but just think the 2 year warranty makes them quite an attractive option to consider.

thanks - will take a look

Frustrating day today. Was meant to be joining someone from work and a few others for a pedal at 10AM. It was clear that the roads near me were still going to be frosty so I dropped that idea.

11AM and the roads had thawed so I start getting my stuff together. Somehow that took nearly 15 minutes and by the time I get out it is looking misty.

Get half a mile up the road and I have to stop to put my rear light on max flash. Get to the open fields (just over a mile from home :o ) and my glasses are fogging up on the outside, thick fog and my clothes and bike are dripping wet with the moisture in the air. Drivers seemed to be in ultra moron mode as well so I just decided to head back.

Work ride is scheduled for Friday, really need to get out tomorrow now as well. Funnily enough the other lot managed 50 miles so the other side of the city must have been clearer :o

I didn't get any cycling presents. Yet. Getting a turbo to help rehabilitation at the end of January though, so got that to dubiously look forward too.

Fortunately now having moved and sorted the garage out, I have somewhere to put it! I just need to wire it up so I can get the sufferfest/trainer road on.

Well he has gone back to Wigan... :D.

Rehab? What happened?

Back in work today. Just for today though. Managed to get out yesterday. Only 15 miles, but the weather was great. Did a tiny amount on boxing day, and it just demonstrates how crap I've been recently... this week is the most I've cycled in a single week since September. :o Embarrassing.

Planned a 100 miler today, can't be assed to risk it with the ice. Might try again tomorrow as it's meant to be cloudier and a bit warmer.

At least there's no wind though!

All these terrible excuses to avoid riding, it'll warm up, just stick to the main roads until later in the day!

21KM to go for festive500 after chucking some extra miles in this morning before work.

Even if I left now, 100 miles will take 6 hours max, so I'll be coming back in the dark. More hassle I can't be assed with.

I'm heading out later on for a small ride when it's warmed up a bit.

Nice one for (almost) completing FF500!

I wasn't after a new bike but I've been starting to have unclean thoughts about a new one since all these sales emails keep bothering me :p

Problem is some of the best deals are rim brake bikes and im on TRP mech discs which I like, just wondering if i might regret rim brakes. Maybe good rim brakes are better than cheap disc ones perhaps?

Get rim brakes on your summer bike.

N+1 FTW :)

I'm fairly sure someone was after a deal on a Wahoo Elmemnt.

I bought one this morning for £190 from the Wahoo website.

As I'm stuck at work, bored out of my mind, what targets/plans does everyone have for next year?

I've already prepared my plans for next year. I have written up my year of racing with next years targets in the following post.

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=30093771&postcount=336

Along with this I'm riding the Marmotte in July, with a week in the alps and planning a bit more of an assault on the local CX league taking it a bit more seriously now my results are improving. Also planning to head out to sunnier climates at end of Feb/beginning of March for a week of warmer training without having to wear 15 layers.

I shall probably also purchase numerous Rapha items throughout the year to annoy xdcx.

Running a marathon for the first time next year so that will eat up the majority of my training time for the first quarter.

Aside from that there's a 200km CX that uv is making me sign up for and we'll probably do a 24 hour/250 mile ish ride to Norfolk. It'll be the longest unsupported ride I've done (209 being the previous unsupported, 320 supported).
