Road Cycling

Anyone have knowledge of the Trek Emonda? Found a proper bargain S5 2016 (entry level carbon) but a bit nervy of the move from Endurance to the racier geometry. Hoping not to make a horrible mistake where the Emonda gives me back spasms after 10 miles :p

Are they as rock hard a ride as people on internet seem to make out?

The slippery slope starts :D

I don't have a Trek but I do have an endurance type road bike (Ribble Gran Fondo) and an aero road bike (Giant Propel) and I don't find the aero bike uncomfortable and am quite happy riding the Propel reasonable distances.

some sweat shop in china has been working hard over new year to produce my foakley's

:p:p

5 sets of lens/cleaning cloth/pouch/hard case. $15
Snip

Can be a bit hit & miss but my second set from a different seller were much better than the first. Branded, with adjustable arms, the proper lens release mechanism and rubber nose piece. The first set didn't have any of that and weren't great. Can't fault this set though

Get the ALR :p;)

Ditto.

Address any flexibility issues and moderate setups shouldn't be uncomfortable enough not to ride.

Cheers Pal, That good are they then?

I'll go for the stages then, as they seem easier to sell on, someone with a DA will want it.

What about wheels? I'm edging the Fulcrums and they must be better that the standard issue Bontragers I have.

Have to make the decision by Monday 5pm PST.

After advice fom you guys here and a chat with our US wellness team...

A deal has been struck! (Didn't want the Garmin 25 anyway :) )

I have Garmin Vector 2 and Campy Zonda Wheelset on its way to me, pity I have to wait until end of March :(

Trek Emonda was on my list of options when I bought mine in 2015. Seemed like a great bike I just wasn't too keen on the white and the not quite full Shimano setup + Cube offered full Ultegra for £100 less.

Is that brand new? I saw it somewhere on a classifieds for £600 or so earlier.

Black this one, full 105, brand new, uk well established seller.

Im half thinking it's a pricing error - anyway I've ordered and paid for it so unless they call me this morning trying to weed their way out of a pricing error/website mishap then it's a done deal. Just too good a deal to refuse.

edit - brand new but 2016 spec

Didn't want to start a new topic on this but has anyone had any problems logging into the strava site on their phone?
I had a bookmark which now goes to their new look mobile website where it points you towards the app but there are three horizontal lines at the top left to go to the menu where there is an option to log in. When I try to select that the side menu disappears without doing anything. I'm using a galaxy s6.

Why don't you use the app?

Ok so the bike shop has just changed it's website within the last few minutes - the S5 for £799 now says S4.

I knew that price was too good to be true, so - I've got screen shots of their web page (from last night, before they made the changes), the bike spec section and then I've logged into the "my order" section of their website which clearly shows £799 for an S5 54cm 2016 ordered and paid for. Plus I've got an email from them too.

This is going to be interesting!

Good luck but unless they are very fleixible and keen to still sell you it for £799, they can say it was a mistake and cancel your order without any issues.

The legally binding contract is complete when a retailer accepts an order. However, acceptance does not necessarily happen at the point of order. Even the confirmation email may not be an acceptance. Some retailers reserve the right to cancel an order up to the point of delivery. It is therefore important to carefully check the retailer’s terms and conditions (which must be available on their website) and emails – if a retailer simply acknowledges an order, there may be no contract at that point.

Indeed - they've now said the S5 is "no longer available", they're offering an S4 (brown, which I'm totally not sure about) for same price. Gosh - so generous.

:(

Tbh I'm have tempted to just jump onto an alternative now - Giant Defy 1 2016 (105 everything except calipers) for £630 instead Here

Hmm.

My local shop still have the S4 at 950 reduced from 1200
