Road Cycling

Only about -2c out there this morning, was rather nice for the commute. This endura jacket is the absolute nuts though. Love it. even in -11c last week, just had that and an underlayer on. Was fine!

I'm dreading today - dropping bike off at Halfords - the BB is creaking under load and it's also now developed a little squeak once every rotation. Warranty jobbie, hopefully. I'm certain it's not my pedals.

So which of the following is going to happen:

a) they call it wear and tear and fob me off
b) they find no fault and send me on my way
c) they fix it only to create a new problem worst than the original problem
d) they fix it ok, but it takes a week
e) they fix it but on my first ride out I hear the same creak and squeak
f) they refuse to even accept the bike in as they can't find me on their system (I don't have the receipt with me, but I am pretty sure I am saved on their system)
g) everything goes just swimmingly, the fix is prompt, professionally and skilfully carried out and right and proper in every way

Yes, it was pretty chaotic out there.

Swarms of cyclists who only commute in summer or during tube strikes, swarms of pedestrians throwing themselves into the road and more cars than normal.

Not been in here in a while. Made a baby step towards a comeback at the weekend after health issues had me off the bike most of last year. Nice to see everyone is still getting out.

I went from 10,000km in 2015 to about 900km in 2016, nearly all of which was in January. Fair to say the fitness has dropped off a bit as a result. And I'm 10kg heavier with it.

Managed an hour. It hurt.

Had the same with my MTB from Halfords and it was option D. The story I was told was that they were let down by their part supplier on the replacement BB and after I called for the second time they took one off the shelf and I picked it up the following day. Downside was it took just over a week in the end, upside I got a better quality BB.

yup! was not fun! way back is going to be no different.

Anyone have knowledge of the Trek Emonda? Found a proper bargain S5 2016 (entry level carbon) but a bit nervy of the move from Endurance to the racier geometry. Hoping not to make a horrible mistake where the Emonda gives me back spasms after 10 miles :p

Are they as rock hard a ride as people on internet seem to make out?

They have the H2 geometry, I find my S4 much better than the Allez it replaced.

Edit: and with 25 or 28 tyres its super comfy (the 23's were awful)

So its not super aggressive geo then? If so then thats putting my mind at rest.

I'd put 25's in it instantly, if i decided on it.
