Road Cycling

Yay, knocked off my bike this morning, riding along my usual commute
Glad you're all ok buddy, take stock tonight and rest up, you may notice some whiplash or other symptoms overnight as the bruising & strains come out. Report as an RTC to the Police (even though it takes effort and time, just without it there's no official 'record' that it ever took place).

Will probably get him to plump for a new helmet as knocked me noggin.
If a helmet has had a knock it's always recommended to replace it! Doesn't have to be broken for it to be compromised :)

Clearing out my mum's loft for new insulation last weekend. Got myself a new addition to the trophy cabinet:

Haha that's awesome! How old were you? I'll show my age by saying I was 17 then! :o

It's meant to be dry at home. I might... omg go on a bike ride tonight. Wish me luck.

OMG! Goodluck! It's gonna hurt! ;)

The rain forecast for here never arrived, was toasty at lunch due to strong headwinds, but the winds much warmer than earlier in the week. The wind direction is due to swing south (so will bring rain) before swinging to the north (making it colder). Weekend looks like it gets the worst of the rain. Typical.

After last Sunday's rain no rain will ever bother me ever again - I now WANT it to rain - just so I can laugh in it's face.

My new strategy to combat getting very sore quads from overdoing it came back to haunt me, rode hard of Monday (few decent segment times), but then that made yesterday's beautiful weather a gentle short ride (well, I sort of went for it a bit on some hills and got one new pb).

I probably should have gone out today, even though it's been wet most of the day bar odd small dry spells, but I just didn't have the mojo for a wet ride.

Wish I had hammered yesterday afternoon now in that glorious sunshine!

I feel very good surprisingly, knee aches a bit, but went for a jog earlier to ensure I didn't seize up. Will just get hte guy to pay for my phone and Helmet. If anything changes overnight I'll take stock. Very much think I slid rather than bumped meaning I appear to have got away quite lightly considering the impact speed.

Well, I went out. Did about 15 miles. Met up with a friend who's also un-bikey as me... she didn't charge her light enough so we had to turn around early.

Had a hilarious one this morning... Me and the other half cycling down the cycle path, around 5 meters apart @15mph nice and easy. There's a lay by (might even be a bus stop?!) and there's a van parked there (quite usual). As I'm approaching (the cycle path runs directly alongside the road/stop) the passenger door begins to open and I give it a "woooah" as I go past, there's plenty of room but I was just making a noise so person doesn't step out infront of the girlfriend behind. I hear nothing else and stop around 10/15 feet later at a roundabout looking back towards the other half (who's just pulling up with a grin on her face). As I do so said van driver is alongside us both with his window down saying something sarcastic like "you're a real joy this time of the morning", I holler at him "flunking look next time" and he delightfully responds with something I won't repeat here. As he's then on the roundabout I shout "Have a nice day!" after him, he's so frustrated by this he misses a gear change on the roundabout almost stopping on the exit to scream more abuse at me. Such a pleasure sharing the road with these morons (not that we were even on the road!). Really made us laugh though, gonna have fun uploading the video of that one! ;)

First warm & sunny morning so guess all the idiots were out...

Wish I had hammered yesterday afternoon now in that glorious sunshine!
It's a beautiful morning here today so you might have an even nicer day if you're heading out!
Not even anywhere near being born yet, to make you feel old ;)
FFS, you mean you're literally old enough to be my son! :o

Well done mate, keep it up, as long as you keep riding the distance doesn't matter! :D

Looking pretty good out there now, cloud has broken up and very little wind, bit of early lunch and then a ride is in order. :)

Can confirm. Glorious. 14 degrees.

Yup can confirm, 14/15 degrees & beautiful out there! Knee warmers, thin full fingered gloves, thin thermal jersey, no overshoes and no face buff. Didn't feel cold! Winds around making things cooler (but not cold) with the sun feeling gloriously warm when out of it!
Enjoy it, it's gonna be cold again next week apparently
Yup! Getting colder as the week goes on, but monday & tuesday similar to now (hopefully!). Tomorrow & Weekend here is forecast couple of degrees cooler, overcast and chance of rain in the mornings. Sunday daytime looks a complete writeoff with rain. Meh! Saturday morning actually looks ok for club rides, but rain in the early morning before may decide it for me... Facefulls of spray!

I kinda want to go out again tonight. But my lights aren't so charged. Maybe I can get 2 hours out of them, though and do the ride I'd planned last night.
