Booo... bottom bracket clunk.

It has a hollowtech 2 so should I be looking to upgrade at the same time? It currently has a Sora groupset but the lowest spec I can see on Wiggle or CRC is Tiagra

May as well buy an ultegra one, they're barely more expensive, though you'll need a smaller tool to fit it.

That or go off brand and go for token or - spendy - hope.

a BB click developed louder when pushing any real power over 300W. Damn annoying!
90% solved last night. removed my cranks and spotted some metal 'shavings'... Realised then, when drilling out the stuck mudguard screw a few days ago, that a bunch of debris/metal filings has ended up within the BB shell as it has a bunch of holes in it, one right next to the seat tube! Argh!

Cleaned it out as much as possible with a rag, wouldn't risk using degreaser right around the cartridge bearings there! The bolt I drilled out also appears to have been non metallic (wasn't that hard so maybe not alu?) otherwise removing them with a magnet would've been a very easy option. Regreased & refitted and things sounded loads better. Commute in this morning things mostly ok, but hitting much over 400W I'm still getting an occasional click. Will be keeping an eye on it the next few days to see if it gets worse/better. Grabbed some pictures of the bearing numbers to try and make them out to order some more...

Anyone got a source for good quality & good price ceramics for BB's or any experience of using them? Just after something which'll weather the UK winters/rain/dirt a little better. PF30 BB.

I might have to hire a Boris bike and see the sights at 12mph.
RP laps! We need an OcUK Boris RP leaderboard! ;)

here are two GORE Jerseys im looking at currently :
I've never been a huge fan of Gore, the one jersey and pair of gloves I own (only Gore kit) were overpriced and no better quality than something like DHB. Jersey (Large) fit isn't great either, I'm probably a medium but it's never fitted me well. Designs are very plain, worth looking at TORM if that is to your preference. But that probably doesn't help you on Wiggle, some of the Stolen Goat stuff is less loud than those I linked...

The Thermodynamic are my go-to. They're fantastically wicking, comfortable and even warm if required. I own probably a dozen of them and wear them for 80% of the year. Can ocasionaly get them on Wiggle/Evans sales for £14/16. They're very fragile, but don't let that fool you as I find them fantastic (just be cautious when washing).

Just back from Flanders. Great weekend.
Welcome back! How was the sportive/ride? Think you had some fantastic weather?! Although bit of a shame to see a mostly dry tour of Flanders! ;)

I signed up to the 250k / full route.

First 3-4 hours from Antwerp was about 6-7 degrees and raining. The latter part of the ride was sunny and warm. A real mixed bag of weather conditions but fortunately there wasn’t much wind the whole day.

The 100km down from Antwerp to get Oudenarde isn’t needed at all and I wouldn’t recommend it if people plan to do it. Its just a long flat section that saps the energy out of you; I think my average was 18 all the way down and that was very slow in comparison to others; +20 was the norm. All the climbs and ‘best’ parts are in the last 1/3 of the ride.

I had to bail at the exact same point as last time, approx. mile 110 I think as I just didn’t have the power/strength/fitness/enthusiasm to continue. The route wanted me to head back into Oudenarde and then back out on another loop which would take me up Kwaremont and a few others climbs. Was in the saddle for a very long time and just lost the fun of it.

Ride quality of other riders was questionable as always; wrong way on roundabouts, on footpaths, cutting up directly in front etc etc.

Sunday however was great. In Oudenarde for a 9am Leffe and the shuttle bus up to Kwaremont for the fun and games of the pro race to begin. The Belgians love their cycling and it’s a great atmosphere. Oh, and I won £85 on the Phillipe & Greg, 1-2.

Liege-Bastogne-Liege in 2 weeks.

get to decathlon - base layers are like £8. I've got a drawer full of them, long and short sleeved - fantastic.

thanks might give them ago, i could get base layers elsewhere and something decent from Wiggle, got £65 to spend, so i don't mind spending £100 in wiggle :)

I have a TORM that i use in the summer months, fantastic jersey but i have wiggle vouchers, so it must be from wiggle
i could do with some more summer jerseys, i only have my TORM and a specilized s-works race jersey

Ultegra BB £9.99 on wiggle currently.
This looks like a bargain but it doesn't come with the adaptor to fit it anymore, nor do they sell one  How can you tell what size bottom bracket a particular tool can come with? They all say "Compatible with Shimano Hollowtech 2" but apparently that isn't the case.

I bought one only 2 or so weeks ago that came with an adaptor.

Was that from Wiggle? They have put in both the description and features sections "Please note - TL-FC25 adaptor is not included."

I've found an ebay seller with the adaptor in stock so I'll just order one anyway. Still works out a couple of quid cheaper than getting a Tiagra one.

Thanks Roady

Torm jerseys are the business. I have two summer and one winter and they're great. Gonna buy another this summer. That's actually why I ride my bike so slowly - it's to maximise the time people get to gaze in awe at my glorious jerseys.

So after finally getting my P1 pedals and using them for a month, I ask myself...how did I ever not ride with power? :D
Excellent, loving them.

The Zondas are superb as well. Transformed the bike.

Got a bit carried away on payday and have a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt on order as well.
