Whats the difference, I'd almost to be tempted to buy a new one and send it back under the old order :D

It's only a tenner...tbh that thought did cross my mind :p It's out of stock since the new platinum discount though (interesting timing...) and I'm too lazy. It's a nice improvement over my broken 810 and I'm happy with the price I paid.

Bolt hands down. Elemnt is a huge ugly thing. Annoys me that the bolt came out a few months after I bought an Elemnt.
Pffft! The ELEMNT is no larger than the 810. Just slightly more square. The 1000 is loads bigger!

I'm pretty certain with the male Garmin mount plugs you could quite easily attach a Wahoo female plug to the reverse and still make do of your current mount. My Elemnt fits in to a Garmin mount, albeit at 90 degrees so you'd need to offset this when sticking them together
Interesting, was sure I'd heard this but my ELEMNT doesn't fit into either of the outfront mounts I have (both made by Superstar). YMMV!

Though on the first pair I did notice the jaws aren't quite in line with each other (obvious at the crimping area) so I wondered if that's a potential issue in operation. This appears to be the case with the second set too though so I guess that's fine.
Pretty poor service if you ask me, equally I can see where they're coming from - if all of their stock is marked then there's not much point sending you more! I'll have a look at mine over the weekend as even after a year rattling around my toolbox I don't think they've even got marks like that! :o

Well, that was annoying. Five miles from home and I get the PTSCHHHHH of doom. Oh well, I was going to get a puncture on the Pro4E's eventually and 1000 miles is a decent run without one. Have a look and the tyre is split, badly! I didn't really have anything to make a boot with so I just shoved a new tube in and headed straight home. Big mistake as once inflated it looked like my tyre had a hernia and it only lasted a while, had to walk the last 2 and a bit miles home. In hindsight I should have used the plastic bag from my inner tube to try and bodge it. Oh well, now to shop for a new tyre!
How bad/long? These are worth grabbing/carrying/using.

Paid £175 for mine - Annoying that the better Wiggle platinum discount came in just after I bought it. Also, I forgot to Quidco, lolz :/
£189.98 here directly from Wahoo's site as they had a £50 discount offer thingy. Wiggle platinum still doesn't place it under £200 though, but occasionally get a good topcashback from Wiggle. I recall an 8% once, but most of the time 3-4%.

Have a good weekend all & don't eat too much chocolate! Think I'm well over my quota already!

Social (easy) saturday for me I think, but also want to get Gospel pass done. No excuses anymore! Also want to have some legs for a second attempt of the chain-gang on tuesday but that'll depend on Gospel pass and the weather I think...!

One for Ben, Castelli Volo (new range?) back on Wiggle: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?s=castelli+volo

So they've pretty much told me to go elsewhere. After 36 hours they've finally responded and told me to return this set for a refund. I ordered last Tuesday the original set so still without a new set to use. Anyone would think I ordered them for the fun of it and not to do a job!

Moan and hash tag them on Twitter! It is the best tool for complaining about companies!

It is the only reason i use Twitter! Lol

Everytime I've done it I've received an answer and resolution in hours!

Pretty much centre of the tread to the bead. I'll certainly be taking something as a boot for future rides though. Normally I'd have a gel packet or something but I had nothing today as I was only going for a quick spin!

Got a new Pro4E on the way from Decathlon. Might try Schwalbe Ones next time but at the moment the front has tons of life in it and I don't want to run miss matched tyres :o

Already tried my luck, sadly they said no.

If you weren't already content, then I'd do this :)

Schwalbe Ones are meant to be awesome though in theory you should get more life from the P4E.

My One's last bloody ages, grippy tyre too. Some tread though can have greater aero/drag related benefits but it's all relative to what you want, need and are prepared to pay. Colour options for the stripe are a nice touch too.

Tonights ChainGang was good fun, pace was a little on the slow side for the most part due to a lot of stronger members being away for Easter, so was around 8-9 of us, though it picked up towards the end with an attack on the drag and signpost sprint. The ride to & from with one member pace wise was more my cup of tea :p

Probably join the club run on Saturday AM and see how those fair, very convenient not to have to ride 12 miles for a club meet! :)

Brake pads - So I changed mine this evening and now have a couple of issues. :(

1. They rub on the rim slightly as there's plenty more pad than the old ones.

2. The rear brake lever has to be pressed in much more than the front before it applies any pressure.

How do I adjust to compensate for the above? I've tried the barrel adjusters and adjusting the position of the pads but no luck at all.

Release the cable from the clamp on the brake caliper. Tighten the barrel adjuster a decent amount. Pull the brakes closed with your hands - the cable should basically not move at this point, so you should effectively be pulling the clamping point along the cable as you close the brakes. With the brakes closed against the rim, tighten the cable bolt. At this point the brakes should be as good as closed even with the lever untouched. Release the barrel adjuster to slacken them off a bit. Adjust as necessary to give you a reasonable amount of pull and modulation.

The rear brake will always be weaker than the front due to the length of the cable run. Nothing you can really do about that.

Unscrew the barrel adjust 1/3 to 1/2 way.
Release the bolt securing the brake cable to the caliper.
Press both pads against the rim and pull the cable through and rescure the fixing bolt.
Screw in the barrel adjuster so the pads clear the rim.

Watch

You may need to adjust the 'throw' of the lever if you find them mismatched. You should be able to achieve the same throw for both levers by adjusting this through the hood screw themself. Though your rear wheel will flex more under load so a little more pad clearance is usually required.

GoogleFu, y0.

Thank you, will give be this a go when I'm done me this evening. Didn't think to look for a video on YouTube for some reason.

And will probably leave the throw on the goods different then based on the flex you mentioned.

Hope everyone has a good ride over Easter. What do people have planned? Depending on the weather I'll either be out for 30/40 miles on Sunday if it's raining or cycling back to Wolverhampton to see family (80+ miles) if the weather is decent. 40% chance of rain though at the moment.

quick question regarding bottom brackets and changing from Shimano to Sram.

Ive got a BMC TMR02 which apparently uses a PF86 (Press fit 86?) bottom bracket. Do I need to replace this if I go SRAM? Ive seen BB30 and GXP mentioned a lot on SRAM items and im not sure what I need. These are the two items that I have currently in my shopping bracket.

SRAM Force22 Crank Set GXP & SRAM BB GXP Team PressFit Road BB86 Bottom Bracket

Think of it as two interfaces:

1) Between the frame and the BB.
2) Between the BB and the crankset.

You will need a BB that matches both - so for most Shimano that would be PF BB86 (1) and Hollowtech II (2). Changing to SRAM on that frame you'll need PF BB86 (1) and most probably GXP (2) - though I'm not an expert on SRAM. You may find that GXP and HTII are compatible too though I'm also not sure on that and would probably play it safe.

Generally speaking, for (2) you can work out compatibility based on axle length and width but again I tend to play it safe.
