Anyone know anything about removing press fit bottom bracket bearings?

Thought I had my bike build all sorted (been going on for weeks) but for some reason my Di2 shifting isn't working at all and after confirming the front junction box is working OK I've realised the problem must be either the battery or the other junction box :( This means removing the bottom bracket shell, which means removing one of the press-fit bearings, but I can't find any guide for this online! It's a hope PF41 bottom bracket, but hope have no instructions online. It looks like a Park Tools BB90 will do the job:

But I'm not 100% sure. I emailed hope and they haven't responded :(

I think I had pressfit on my cannondale - I bodged up a bit of piping with a soft end (wrapped some rags round the pipe) and hammer them out from the opposite side. Worked fine!

Double check all your connections on your Di2 - Does it tell you what's missing when you hook it up to the Di2 software on pc??

What is the problem you're having? How did you work out the junction box is working?

That will work as it's what I use to remove them.

Well, the di2 just isn't responding at all. It was running OK bar an issue with the FD connector (hadn't slotted it in properly, connection was really tough on the derailleur) - but then when I went to finish up and adjust the gearing sunday afternoon it wasn't working at all. I tried plugging in the charger but there were no lights coming on with the charger and holding down either shifter wasn't showing up on the light on the main junction box (cables were definitely connected OK). My worry is that it's actually the battery - the seat post wouldn't fit the battery internally so I wrapped it in bubblewrap with some zip ties (so i can hopefully pull it out again!) and slid it underneath, which seemed OK at the time. I wonder if the connection wasn't properly hooked up with the battery, that's about the only thing i can think of to explain why nothing would light up? :/

Hacksaw?

I dunno, all these new bikes are starting to look the same!

Tiny headtubes make them look like they've got hunched shoulders. Seat stays not meeting the top tube look wrong.

I'm sure they're epically fast if you're epically pro, but I'm epically slow, so I'll opt for something that looks good when I'm dawdling round the highways and byways.

Short headtubes are much more aesthetically pleasing* than massive ones. Osteopathically however, the reverse is often true

*With the caveat that a short headtubes with lots of spacers and an upturned stem looks cack

anyone here wear prescription cycling sunglasses or prescription inserts ? if so what do you wear please, interested to know as there's so many to choose from and it's difficult to fathom what's decent and what isn't.
I don't wear them (yet! it's only a matter of time!) but my cheap Foakley Jawbreakers came with a subframe (for normal prescription lenses) which would then clip into the sunglasses on the nose bridge. It's a neat idea & concept (if accurate) to genuine Oakleys as you could swap them between different glasses. Mine's a poor fit to the frame but I think it's the nose bridge connection & cheap plastic my fakes are made out of. Interestingly I own some genuine Jawbreakers but I've not seen if the subframe fits in them.

Have to agree! The dropped seatstays are getting more and more extreme/common on aero orientated bikes. Although it's a fairly recent trend, many previous non-aero frames also feature it, just not dropped as low. My Giant Defy 1 2015 and Specialized Diverge 2016 being two of them.

so I'll opt for something that looks good when I'm dawdling round the highways and byways.
Personal preference! I think they look better! ;)

Tap them out, carefully! I've done it with wheel bearings. I have one of these for bottom brackets but only available for BB30 I think? The Lifeline press set is superb too...

Does wearing a go pro on your helmet decrease your aero?
Obviously... But sometimes motorists require an obvious looking camera for them to even partly consider sticking to the law.

EDIT: Zwifted last night. Really humid evening, I've zwifted a couple of times on warm & humid evenings and I seem to go really well. Suffer and utterly melt, but ride well :)

Word of warning, LaPassione customer service sucks.

Ordered a few jerseys to try with the intention of most likely sending them back. In haste I didn't realise they didn't (then) offer free returns and are based in Italy.

They now do offer free returns for orders placed on or after the 27th June over £90. I queried could they not just charge me for a collection as it would be more convenient, no. I suggested there was nothing to stop me placing a new order and then returning that with my original order to take advantage of the newly initiated free-returns, so to simplify things and to save souring my impression of the brand, to just give me a free return label. To be told that wouldn't be very good spirited of me and I would be refunded less a shipping cost if I did this :o

Clowns.

Not overly fussed at £10-12 to send it back but it just stinks a bit :p

Another for you. New Merida Reacto.

Rubbish isn't it! Hate to say it, that's part of the danger of buying away from anything UK based.

I'd be slagging them off on their social media pages and places like trustpilot. But I would wait until I had most of my money back first! ;)

Did it a while back with Prendas when their 'waterproof cycling cap' turned up interesting shades of orange (when it should've been white) and they claimed I'd washed it (hadn't even worn it!). Got a voucher (refund) after moaning on facebook which I just gave away.

Yeah I'd look there first as the whole system is dead. If you plugged it in to etube it will let you know what is connected and what isn't purely doing a connection check.

Sadly you can't plug the battery in on its own like you can using PCE1 but the etube can do most things that allow you to troubleshoot.

Make sure you click the connectors in properly using the tool.

I've had a 10 speed rear mech, 11 speed rear mech and two front mechs in recent weeks with broken ports meaning new mechs as they aren't fully serviceable.

As the new Ultegra groupset is either out or coming out very soon are we expecting a price drop on the 6800? If we are do you have any guess what price that maybe?

Hopefully! Will continue swapping out parts on my 5800 setup when needed. A 'fast' cassette is next on my list! :D

To be honest the price of some 105 5800 components I've recently considered grabbing some of the deals on a full Ultegra 10 speed (6700) setup as an upgrade for the other half (she needs some new bits including a shifter on her Sora 9 speed setup - although I'm in no hurry as bring pregnant she won't ride again for another 8-9 months!).

Really cool this morning, took a look outside earlier and dressed for drizzle - should've dressed warmer! Thankfully it's staying mostly dry... So far.
