Where abouts are you stopping? In Vaujany?

Heading over next weekend for a week near ventoux before heading over to nr. Allemond for a week. Should get to see the tour on the Croix de Fer :). Is it seriously that cold out there at the minute??

Anyone know anything about removing press fit bottom bracket bearings?

Thought I had my bike build all sorted (been going on for weeks) but for some reason my Di2 shifting isn't working at all and after confirming the front junction box is working OK I've realised the problem must be either the battery or the other junction box :( This means removing the bottom bracket shell, which means removing one of the press-fit bearings, but I can't find any guide for this online! It's a hope PF41 bottom bracket, but hope have no instructions online. It looks like a Park Tools BB90 will do the job:

But I'm not 100% sure. I emailed hope and they haven't responded :(

You will still need that park tool to remove the pressed in cup.

To remove the bolted on centre tube you'll need a certain tool that hope sell.

Looks like a long way for a shortcut.

Elemnt Bolt is back in stock at CRC if anyone is waiting on buying from there to take advantage of British Cycling discount. I've just ordered one.

Well yesterday was glorious! Lovely ride out in the Alps.

Started off chilly at the top of the Col Du Glandon, with quite a bit of wind, climbing up to the Croix de Fer to warm up.

Then I got into my element on the fantastic descent down, the day slowly warmed up as we made our way to the Lacets de Montvernier. Which was an easy climb, but well worth the off road excursion to take a few photos.

After grabbing some food we then began the long old climb up the Glandon, with Sunday in all of our heads we took it easy, stopping a few times. Fantastic climb nonetheless with some great views, but glad to get it out the way, as the weather was starting to turn, getting colder and starting to rain a bit.

Think my body didn't enjoy yesterday as had a dickie stomach last night, but seems to have settled luckily. Got to go and get our registration done then smash out La Marmotte tomorrow!!! Hoping the weather will be kind!

Well, I got e-tube up and running, and sure enough it wasn't picking up a battery so I used the park tool to remove the bearing - a lot easier than i expected! Ended up pulling out the junction box and the problem was fairly obvious - the battery wire had come out completely! I guess I didn't have it plugged in quite right, so I reconnected it with the tool and got everything back together, all seems good now!

Glad to hear it! Had to do practically the same job on a BMC yesterday to get the junction box out to replace a front mech and wire.

Felt in their wisdom at least put a hole under the BB that the box fits out of but had a bike in where the battery was going flat and it was because the box was sitting in a pool of water at the lowest point of the frame!

Get it all updated and enable syncroshift! Having messed about I think I would only ever use semi-syncro as the front shift can be a bit large if unexpected and when I go up and down the big ring I do change 2 gears to compensate.

Folks, if anyone is looking for 700x23 tyres, CRC are doing pairs of Michelin Pro Race 3 plus two Michelin tubes for £29.99 delivered. Just got mine today, total bitch to fit to my Pinarello as they are very tight on the rims but they roll very nicely and at that price are a bit of a bargain. :)

If anyone ever has the pleasure of riding with BennyC, don't waste your time asking if that was the last climb, he'll say yes when there's another 10 left :p

Haha, my neighbour is like that. Fortunately I'm wise to his tricks and I know the area pretty well, so when he says we're practically home I'm usually thinking "yeah, apart from the three cat 4s and the 15 miles..."
