Robot Wars returning to BBC2!

OK so your idea of Robot Wars is "two robots display pretty basic control until one of them probably falls into the pit".

Good stuff.

I am sure you will be very happy with what's to come.

You're so amusingly butt hurt :D Are you a Razer fanboy or something? Nobody has gone into the pit that hasn't deserved it.

The way you talk when the pit is activated (which takes up 75% of the floor space of course) a vortex is activated sucking the best robot in no matter what they do.

Idea: if the fight goes the distance then the walls close in and compact whatever is left.

LOL, are you a pit fanboy?

Who doesn't like Razer? Also, yes, I was somewhat disgruntled when the pit took out a large chunk of this series's entertainment and has continued to do so.

Now because of the pit we'll never get Razer vs. Thor or Razer vs. Supernova or Supernova vs. Thor. Instead we'll probably get push-bot vs. weak lifter.

Thor was basically disabled before it went into the pit. Razer was just useless, it did nothing and either drove into or got pulled into the pit. Supernova was just a terrible robot, they couldn't even control it.

I'm fully in the 'pit = terrible idea' crowd. Especially for the group battles. I made the same argument myself about 5 pages back. The main problem as many other have said is that the pit release is too easy. 90% of the releases look completely accidental and happen almost straight away because the stupid tyre button thing sticks right out into the arena.

I also like the house robots but I'm not a fan of the way they get used. In a 2 min 'battle' half of that time can be taken up by one robot being tickled by Dead Metal.

Having said that I'll still probably watch the rest of the series :D But now it's not out of pure enjoyment, more like the equivalent of a loyal Leeds United fan clinging onto hope that they can return to former glory.

Maybe they need to put a srimech on the house robots :D

Storm 2 seemed a really well made robot...that just didn't do much offensively. They kept saying it had 3 weapons but we never even saw one of them and the other two only seemed t be use to self right.

Yeah they said it had a flipper i think, all it seemed to do was run into robots and try to cart them into the house robots corner.

Storm 2 was a bit pony. Telling us it's worth £20k and then it doesn't use any of its weapons when given an opportunity was just frustrating. Very pleased it got chucked out the arena.

Storm 2 have been around since the last wars. a lot of expensive titanium and custom gearboxes etc. Over 20k is well believable. One of the team members is not liked by many in the robot circle.

Do tell, who and why?

In terms of cost cost Chaos 2 supposedly cost £250 back in the day and that was a great robot.

Yet again the super hitech, expensive robot is a boring box on wheels. Joins that 2 tooth pick box and the titanium useless pincer box in the hall of fail.

Good episode, pit was hardly used, some good driving skills by the flipper teams, house robots getting rekt :D. Awesome fun!
