Angela isn't too bad from what I've seen of her on a Irish travel show called getaways ,Dara`s ok but would have preferred Craig back but at least Jonathon Pearce is still on commentary :)

Do hope we get some good innovation. I remember the 'cheese wedge' robots were a bit too common, and a bit boring to be honest.
 
My kids have just started watching this ondemand on Challenge, Robot Wars the Fifth War. I keep finding myself watching the battles as I walk past when they have it on in the dining room.
Not sure about the new hosts but I knew CC wasnt going to host it as he was asked last year when he left Corrie and turned it down as he was doing more new Dwarf.

The Manchester one which is on this weekend coming sold out very quickly I was gutted. All the rest are down that south.

I found a couple of the PC games, Robot Wars Extreme Destruction and Robot Wars Arenas of Destruction. I can just about get them to work in Win10 but they are really dodgy and they dont seem to work on my sons Win10 laptop. I emailed Climax Group who made them to see if they would put them on GoG but they cant as the BBC still owns the IP for them. They were originally commissioned by BBC Multimedia who ceased in 2005 and became BBC Worldwide. I've opened comms with them to try and see if I can get them on GoG but I am not holding my breath.

Interestingly they are the same devs who created Robocraft which is free to play on Steam where you, build robots and battle. Ahem.

They look practically the same to me, not bad at all imo

They had a small live robot wars thing on at a comic con i went to a few years ago. Unfortunately it was a few hours wait for the next show and i got pretty fed up of the place and didn't want to hang around.

Can't wait to see this on TV again - loved the original BBC series back in the day - I think the new house robots look pretty much identical to how I remember them = Sir Killalot :D
 
house robots are stupid anyway.
weight like 3 times as much and are generally rubbish.

hope reddit do what they did with the American series and cut all the rubbish out, a show then lasted about 8minutes, far more bearable.
 
Hypno disc was my favorite. Looking forward to this.
The Robots need to be more advanced though.
Disk's, wedges and flippers are not good enough.
Put a gatling gun on one...:D

You've obviously not been watching Challenge much I saw a four way yesterday and I wasnt really watching the kids were and not sure what the aim of the round was but all of a sudden the four contestants just laid into the house robots. Dead Metal or was it Shunt got knocked over, Ref Bot was attacked and beaten up and one of the newer house robots got completely knocked out. It wasnt until one of the contestants missed the ref bot and hit one of the other contestants that they started laying into each other again. Utter carnage.

I think it went downhill when Jayne Middlemiss joined.

Glad Johnathon Pearce, Dead Metal, Sir Killalot, Shunt (was always my favourite house robot) and Matilda are back.

Shame about Sargent Bash and Craig Charles though. Glad Refbot and the newer house robots aren't back.

Wonder how many of the classic contestants will be back?

Anyone remember that fight between Razor and another robot. The owners just slapped an iron gate atop the latter robot right before the fight and it was not contest.

Apparently that was within the rules :|
