Rocket lake leaks

The pricing seems crazy when you can buy a 10700K for well under £300 right now. There's zero chance of Rocket Lake being any meaningful amount faster to justify spending twice as much.

PCIE 4.0 and you get an 11th Gen Core i(5/7/9) sticker, so IMO that is totally worth it. :D

been thinking the same thing today will not be able to use one m2 slot on the b560 board but its not the end of the world

Not bad, hope its cheap.

Zen3 and Rocket lake took quite different IPC paths and it's quite apparent

Zen3: claimed 19% IPC by AMD. Cinebench scores = 10% higher than Zen2, gaming performance 20-40% higher

Rocket lake: claimed 19% IPC by Intel. Cinebench scores = 20% higher than Comet Lake, gaming performance = 5-10% higher.

This also highlights why IPC for most people is pointless marketing measure. Only half of AMD's IPc translated into better multi core work performance for creators - but for gamers they got more than they bargained for. And it's the complete reverse for Intel - same IPC number yet they offer good gains in multi core work performance, but mediocre performance gained for games

is it 4 weeks or only 2

who knows its silence from intel

It's 2 weeks till pre orders are officially live, not orders but pre orders - so we know they are not officially available in 2 weeks. Reviews are out in 4 weeks so I assume that's when they are officially available for sale

do you think Intel might pull a sneeky one and let stock be released on pre order in certain areas depending on AMD stocks

Yeah, 11% in Cinebench, 18% in 7Zip compression, Average 22% in games, which is also 7% higher than Intel.

the main gain from zen3 over zen2 in games is the memory latency. That’s why it is higher %.

intel’s MT performance is not as efficient as AMDs that’s probably why the game performance uplift is not as high as the CB ST uplift.

What i don't get is why there are two 16 thread SKU's, the 11700K and the 11900K, is the 11700K for normal people and the 11900K for people who like to advertise they can pay more for a higher naming scheme number?

Is this why Intel's CPU's have so many numbers in them? :D sorry...

Exciting times, looking forward to full reviews.

That said, had hoped that AMD would hold the gaming performance crown for longer than a few months. Though not sure if it even counts, since the Ryzen 5000 series is just a pathetic paper launch. Here we are, months after release, when a Ryzen 5 5600X costs £360!!!! and the 5900x, 5950x are out of stock everywhere.

With the news that Rocket Lake is already being SHIPPED to consumers, ahead of launch, this bodes well for stock. Intel will probably sell/ship more units in launch week, than AMD have yet to sell in what, 4 months? Pathetic! :p

Don't you get tired of these tired old tropes?

Trying not to be insensitive, as you may have reading difficulties that I'm unaware of. My post mentioned the 5900x and 5950x not being in stock. Your pretty image doesn't show these as in stock. 5900X, 5950x = paper launch, no stock 4 months after launch is pretty fail.

Sure, you can buy a £360 5600x, or a £440 5800X, as below. These are insanely scalped prices, way above MSRP. It's against the rules to advertise/hint about prices elsewhere, read OCUK forum rules if this is not clear.

AMD = no fabs of their own, so they beg/get the scraps from TSMC, which is clearly not enough to fulfil demand. This is just sad, they have the best designs but are not able to capitalize on them enough IMO.

You can buy a 5800X for RRP give or a take a few quid, in stock, from the biggest etailer around. Actually I think it's actually less than RRP which is £420.

5900X and 5950X are harder to get, but not as hard as Intels 11th gen 12 core and 16 core CPUs though right?

And by the "scraps of TMSC" you mean a process that Intel can't achieve?
