After using a 3900X in C6H, it was mostly a smooth upgrade. 7201 BIOS gives me a slow boot but 7401 fixed that, cannot get 4*8 G Skills 3600 CL17 to run @3600 without errors in memtest but 3200 works OK. I was expecting high temps but getting 35-65C most of the time.

What sort of boost clocks are you seeing on 7401? I assume 50-100MHz under what you had with 7201?

Think it boosted to just under 4.6 on 7201 and 4.546 on 7401 but not as much. On 7201 a lot of the cores would have max values close to 4.6 but now 6 cores are ~4.3, 3 cores ~4.4, 2 are ~4.5 and 1 is ~4.55 .

Terrible isn't it? lol. Hopefully we'll see them boosting properly again.
I am just happy its working, it's great to be able to just plop in a new CPU without having to buy a new mobo and have to re-install Windows. It also looks like the m.2 port might get PCIe gen 4, its in the BIOS options?

In theory, the m.2 port and top PCIe can be set to GEN4. But it's not supported. I have just manually selected GEN3 to ensure it runs okay.

Got my ram running 1:1 @ 1800/3600 at the moment but the the huge gripe I have always had with this board is that it has always seemed to send higher volts to the components.

With the latest Bios 7306? I am getting slower boosting at 4.1mhz rather than the ~4.2mhz peaks in the previous 7201 Bios. Slightly alarming is the cpu voltage on auto was 1.502v on 7201 but is now peaking @1.52 volts 7306. I appreciate that these are quirks with the latest Bios but you do wonder if the grass is greener even on the B450 boards out there.

As for the memory, that does appear to be higher than what I set it at but I am less concerned about that as to the cpu voltage.

Oh and I don't know if its just me but the fans ramping up and down is really getting annoying and although I can't say for sure but it seems worse with the latest bios. Fans are set for a 5 second delay in bios.

yeh i've always had to run a high negative offset on my stuff. I dont want 1.55volts going through my 2700x!

2x G.Skill F4-4000C18D-16GTZ
I have 2x G.Skill 3600 CL17(2*8) kits and it runs @3600 but ups to CL18 even though its set to 17? @3600 memtest gets errors so i set it to 3533 and its running ok but still CL18? Also, how do you get the memory buss to stick to 100, mine is between 97-98 and ram frequency is around 70Mhz lower in CPUz.

Okay, CL14 wasn't stable at all. So i've ended here for now:

That sounds odd. Here's my config if that helps?

Just changed to manual settings, memory buss is now @99.x which is better and i set the ram to 3600 17,18,18,18,T1 and volts @1.36(shows 1.439 in HWMon) but cpuz stll shows 18,18,18,18,T1? first run through of MEMBench has no errors so thats better.

the 7401 is strange! set cl17, it used cl18, set cl 18 it used cl19. So i set 16 and it used 16? And now the bus speed is pinned @100.0 and the ram frequency is 1799.6? if its stable im just leaving it be, i don't like messing with this stuff, just want it to work at 3600.

Now able to run 4 sticks at 3600Mhz cas 16 for the first time ever on this board with latest bios. Have noticed as above lots of juice going through the CPU. Will change that soon.
