I remember that BBC2 program years ago where a team of strategists played a game of Rome 1 trying to play historical battles and stuff, can only imagine what it would be like now!

'And here we go, I'm moving the spearmen to the east to pincer them.... oh... what?....they've got the flag.........and more from us next week'

Patch 3 looks good. Glad they are making smaller armies less likely to survive auto resolve.

Finally crushed the civil war armies - I quite like that feature, even if it is a bit of a pain and makes no sense

If you notice in the patch notes, the AI will now give more priority to capture points in sieges.... These lads have their heads firmly up their anoos.

Neither of you will regret it, absolutely fantastic game. Keeping fingers firmly crossed Rome 2 will go beyond its standard eventually!

It's great isn't it. Only slight niggle was that the blood pack wasn't included for some reason, but hey, only 99p and the gold edition was dirt cheap anyhow.

This. Using FXAA and everything else maxed out to the hilt, it runs great on my rig. Don't think I've seen it drop much below 45fps at 1080P which is fine for me.

on what unit scale???

game only uses one CPU core.

huge CPU bottleneck.

run CPU benchmark and post on here.

i get 25-29 fps on cpu benchmark with i7 920 @ 4.2GHZ

45FPS min with a q6600 at 3.6GHZ??

Maybe he doesn't have darthmod, with darthmod my Shogun 2 drops below 30fps at times on a 3570k at 1440x900.

darthmod or not, game runs badly for me with anything but unit detail low.

Where did you find it cheap please? Have been looking for it for a while but seems to be £25 everywhere??? I missed it when it first came out so decided to give it a whirl until Rome 2 is fixed!

Significant improvements with the most recent patch. turn times much faster & the most recent Radius mod puts this game as a playable state I'd say.

I got it for £15 at 365games.co.uk.

Shogun 2 with Darthmod runs fine on my rig and my gfx card is pretty ancient. Unit detail is on high too.
