Rome 2 : Total War

I see they broke pre order records sigh its cringe worthy so many people would blindly pre order based off a few youtube videos. It looks very arcade and fast compared to Rome I and i see they still have not got the phalanx right after ten years lol.

I think i will be waiting for this one in the sales.

Everything in this game can be modded to make it exactly the style of play you enjoy most. I pre ordered for £26 including the greek dlc and think thats a fantastic price for a game I'm going to spend literally hundreds of hours on over the years.

As for the movement/attack speeds this will be modded in the first few days/week along with longer turn campaigns if that's more your style.

I also think most people ordered it off teh back of Rome 1 my god was it broken but what a stunning game for its day with RTR PE.

Even with its broken save game, Ai that would becomes glued to teh map it was awesome.

6000 archers in one big line :D with a light phalanx in front for support. The Archers just waiting for the order to turn the sky black :D Brilliant.

I've enjoyed every single TW game since I started playing the series with the original Rome. I can rest assured that I will get my money's worth out of this so I'm more than happy to preorder. It doesn't even matter if it's a bit buggy when it comes out first, CA have a good record with supporting their previous games with bug fixes and the modding community will fix any gameplay issues I might have.

Yes Spils, if you are under an NDA you would (or should) not have said anything, so either its BS or your an idiot (with all due respect).

What it amounts to is your post seems to place the assumption that there may be something fundamentally wrong with the game just 2 weeks before release, and likely only a few days before it goes gold.

Nice one.

It's 2 weeks before release, the game has almost certainly already gone gold. It's already cutting it short to get copies printed and send to distributors in that time frame.

If they are working on anything it's probably an early hotfix for any last minute bugs.

Whatever.... On the scale of this game all hes worried about is the speed of play nuts. Just buy the game its immense.

PS The boxed version has already shipped. Its 2 weeks to release. Do you think its not already past that point ? I guess its worth buying to find out if Im a BSer or an idiot(with all due respect)

Fair enough.

I bought it weeks ago and am really looking forward to it. Don't really need randoms insinuating there are "issues" without any intention to provide any justification to be honest. But hey ho, what game has not had "issues" on day one in the last 3 years I asks you?

Pre-order for DVD version on Amazon has dropped to £25 for those on the fence.

I pre-ordered earlier so glad to have a cheaper price by release as they only take the money then :)

Hi guys,

Today we’re announcing our post-launch support plans for Total War: ROME II, and the good news for you is that it involves free stuff, as well as a wide array of high-quality paid-for DLC content with additional bonus features.

Alongside paid-for DLC, we’re planning to support players with regular free content and feature updates.

James Russell, Lead Designer on Total War: ROME II, said, “As with SHOGUN 2, we will continually improve the game’s compatibility, optimisation and integral features such as AI and gameplay balancing post-release, and plan to add to that with new control schemes and additional free formats on other operating systems,”

“We are also very proud of how SHOGUN 2 is our most moddable Total War to date with over 500 user-made mods on Steam Workshop alone. We hope to support ROME II in a similar fashion.”

While the Greek States Culture Pack DLC and free Pontus playable faction update will arrive day one; by October, you’ll also be able to add the Seleucid Empire http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Factions to your playable faction roster for free and the Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack featuring the Royal Scythians, Roxolani and Massagetae as paid-DLC.

That’s a whole faction! For free! On top of Pontus!

Have a great weekend,

Selucids are awesome!

I'm having a right ding-dong battle in Darthmodded RTW right now, I'm only at war with Egypt, Greece and Parthia with Pontic and Armenian columns about to strike! :D

Well with he price drop to £25 I preordered.

I have most of the total war games, but I have never really played much or got in to them. Hope this one can sort things out for me!
