Rome 2 : Total War

Read the RPS and Eurogamer reviews, bit worried now. Seems like all the usual TW issues - funny bugs on the campaign map, too big a scope like Empire, terrible battleAI. Wish I hadn't read them now!

Use their live chat, they extended my prime a month.
I'm pretty let down though, the whole point of using Prime was to get it today.

Thanks. They "confirmed" it would arrive tomorrow so we'll see. Can't play until the evening anyway though so not that worried it didn't come today for when it presumably unlocks at midnight?

That's a matter of personal preference really. I LOVE the huge nature of Empire, one of the many reasons that Empire is (so far) my fav Total War. I'm looking forward to conquering ancient Europe in a much larger setting :)

Fair enough. I could never get into it though as everything just seemed to take forever to do. And the naval battles which were the big feature at the time drove me mad as i went round and round in circles for about 1/2 hour before getting bored and autoresolving!

i am seriously looking forward to tomorrow morning, only bad thing is i have to go to the gym in the morning so won't get to play it the second its released woe is me! first world problems at their finest

Going to the gym for an hour instead of playing a game is always the better choice.

Rather look thick, tight and solid than play a game the second it releases.

I felt that the reviewers from RPS and Eurogamer really concentrated on a couple of issues that bothered them. Almost like they had played it for so many hours that they could only see the flaws in it.

The scale of the maps are why I prefer Empire to Shogun. Shogun didn't feel grand enough for me just because I was hopping across a few islands, not whole continents.

Same, Shogun just felt too small.

I always remember the TW when the mongols invaded....it was far on the other side of the map but instantly the whole region was at war and it gave a whole sense of size.

In general or where it counts?

usually when walking into a plate glass window or trying to walk down the up escalators

I hope it's not too buggy. I love Empire but it seemed broken the first time I tried to play it and nearly gave up.

ps this is going to be another 400+ hours of my life dedicated to my steam account

Who is everyone playing as first on the grand campaign. Im going with Carthage and doing what Hannibal could not, and take Rome:D
Im gonna do the tutorial (prologue) first then jump onto Carthage on Hard setting.

That's the gayest thing I've ever read. :D

Whenever I try and pre-load this, it comes up saying 'invalid install path'. Like wtf? Steam is seriously gonna screw up as usual on something like this? ¬_¬
