wish this game had an epic install sequence like rome.

steam default install is boring lol

I miss those too!

It looks like I will have a meeting tomorrow so I won't be able to play it straight away, but at least I can set it installing.

How are we supposed to play as Sparta when the Greek empire were quite a few years before the Roman empire? Pretty sure in the Roman age Greece had turned into a joke (and still are!).

I don't think anyone could call Classical Greece a 'joke'. Modern Europe was born from the Greco-Roman world.

It's no use hoping for complete historical accuracy in a game, because it's a game and game play comes before historical accuracy.

That Let's play is awesome, and I'm even more excited for this than I was before. I don't like the look of those loading times though

Also worth noting he's playing on like 1280x1024 res there with everything maxed out, so it might be more of a dog at higher res.

think he explained the reason for this was due to recording the footage was the main reason was it not?

Yep.

I wouldn't get hung up on performances either. Its been said if you can run shogun 2 you can run Rome 2. And it should run even better if its true that its optimised better with the cpu using more cores.

That's good to know.

I am expecting my system to run it very well, if not maxed out. I haven't really played Shogun so I'm not 100% sure what to expect.

Has anyone who ordered a disc version from GMG had conformation that their copy has been posted yet?

My status still says 'In Transit', which has been the same since I ordered it a month ago. And, I have had no email or anything regarding it being posted or the Greek states DLC.

You know I pre ordered and pre loaded it last night not thinking about performance, haven't had a game where its not ran max'd at 1080 so never gave it a second thought. Even Crysis 3 ran at very good fps and all was well..

i'm sure it'll be fine, i'm more concerned myself about how to play the game, as I've not played a total war game in years. Should be fun, or I give up after a few hours : - (

Start with the prologue its a story based tutorial, looks really good.

Edit: Reading some of them makes it sound like a pretty standard Total War, excellent

I don't put too much faith in the reviews really. I mean Battlefield 4 has probably already got scores of 9/10 or 9.5/10 or 99% all lined up. They'll play 5 minutes worth, check to see if EA has deposited the money in their account and release the review.

Did anyone else watch the TV show Spartacus?
Does anyone else find it hard to play as the Romans after that because you just want to kill them?

It is funny how up until the last hour it becomes gradually more active, and the thread becomes more intense until activation and it goes suddenly silent with just one or two people still posting.

I was going to watch Spartacus but now I can't watch it! Rome and Athens look like my favourite factions.

Those DiplexHeatedHD youtube rome 2 videos are very good, liking the introduction so far.

With my first step into this series, I will have to go through the prologue to see what is up and for hints.

So looking forward to this unleashing on the masses.

The prologues in the Total War games have never been a boring tutorial but actually quite enjoyable. I seem to remember it was okay in Rome I.

Damn woke up 5:15am, the excitement has woke me up a little early. Guess ill go have shower and breakfast. Then checkout the rest of the diplexheadhd videos hopefully hes put up some more.
