Rome 2 : Total War

Just had a phone call back from Amazon customer service - The dlc codes are due to be mass emailed out in the next couple of hours.

*fingers crossed*

Thank goodness! I still haven't had a reply from them...

EDIT:

Just as I posted I got my e-mail ping.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

In answer to your query I can advise you that whilst we will aim to ship your order to you before this release date, you will not be able to activate your game until 8am BST on Tuesday, September 3. All pre-order codes will be sent via email on this date including the code for free DLC.

We hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Warmest regards,
Michelle P

I pre-loaded it last night and it was perfectly fine for me, possibly something to do with your PC?

Maybe, first time for everything if it is. Just spam clicked the pre load button and eventually it stopped dicking about.

How are we supposed to play as Sparta when the Greek empire were quite a few years before the Roman empire? Pretty sure in the Roman age Greece had turned into a joke (and still are!).

The game starts in the early days of the republic, when the greek city states (mostly in the form of leagues) were still around - they were just dwarfed by the huge newer empires that had fractured from Alexanders campaigns a couple hundred years earlier.

Don't forget TW games go for a "showy" world only loosely based on history.

I just bought the GMG version. You can get cashback with Top Cashback that will knock another 5% or so off that.

I've activated my keys on Steam already but can't see any preload button and my system hasn't downloaded anything. Am I just being dense?

Edit: The game has just shown up on my list after about 5 minutes. Preload ahoy!

Ah I didnt know that, I thought it was set after Rome 1. Tbf though, it's better that its loosely bade on history, because the whole game is basically based on you, the player, rewriting it. Think I'm going to take over Europe as Sparta. With 300 troops. I wonder if the Spartans get hyper elite hoplite units, that'd be sweet!

:D

It's 8am for uk.

This will be my first Total War i properly play, can't wait as i love the Rome era and it probably will make me play the others good too.
