Those faces! Made me laugh so much almost didn't care how bad things are at the moment!
the game is beyond repair via patching IMO.
this is the 4th TW game using their pathetic engine and performance issues still exist.
if they havent fixed it by now then i wouldn't hold your breath for a fix via patching.
CA are useless at optimization.

Agreed. They should completely just ditch the Warscape engine and build a brand new one for next Total War game.
I went over to a friends house to play this game for a couple of hours and the performance is just terrible considering hes got a GTX 680 plus a i5-3570k and an SSD. getting just 10-15fps on the campaign map alone
Keep seeing people going "Oh I see most people are having huge issues", "Oh I see this game plays terribly" etc etc.
It's worth noting that from a cursory glance at the last couple of pages of this thread, it's the same group of people making constant posts of the same thing, mostly. And also that the ones having problems are obviously the ones with the biggest and loudest voices cus the people not having problems are busy playing the game.
Personally I've had no problems, dropping AA lets me play essentially maxed (turned shadows down a bit just for that extra bit of fps) and while the UI takes a bit of getting used to it's by no means bad or terrible like some people are complaining about. Unit cards are fine for me and again just take some time to get used to and you can tell stuff at a glance.
I dunno, I feel like it's new and they've changed a few things mechanically and visually so people are throwing their toys out of the pram cus it's not exactly the same game again, which by the way, these people would be the first to complain about any lack of "innovation" if they did that. CA can't win either way really.
Best advice I can give if you're on the fence about buying this, is to go and watch some of DiplexHeatedHD's let's play's on youtube, because they're great and showcase the game quite well I think. You're better off not taking all of these negative posts as complete gospel and make your mind up yourself based on gameplay and not opinion. Obviously this is for gameplay issues not technical ones as you may or may not get those yourself, it's hard to judge really. I've not got any, but obviously some people have.
Honestly, whenever you see a TW release date, you should always add a couple of months/years to it to make a worthwhile release date.

Just let the fan boys be blinded by their love of the series.
They could release a black and white 2d version and they'd still argue it was awesome.
Just let the haters be blinded by the hatred of all new games.
They could release the best game that has ever been made and they'd still argue that it was a waste of money.
Why should the opinion of those that are enjoying the game be less worthy than those of people who are willing to make huge posts about how they deserve a refund?
I avoided the hype of the game so when I play it I am left pleasantly surprised and pleased by the game(and yes I've played previous TW games before you bring out the "I've played all of the series" line as if it makes your opinion more valid)...
Then you might have also noticed that performance issues are not even half the problem. People also don't mind mechanics being changed, but when they make no sense and make playing the game more annoying rather than more fun... The metacritic score is down to 5.0 now and will likely continue to fall, but hey, we're only paying customers so to hell with our opinions?

So wrong it hurts.
I know i will love the game....but i am not playing whilst any battle with more than 10 units renders my framerate unplayable...
Have you played it Suarez? No? Then how can you say it's bad? There's bad reviews for it yes, but they're are also good reviews and praise for it. Some people probably hate Half Life. Does that make it a bad game?
You seem to be bashing it an awful lot considering you've not played it :/
Most of us comment on things we haven't had 1st hand experience with. Ever moaned about something political? Best have a go at being an MP. McDonalds burger tasted a bit bad once? Best get behind the counter and start flipping those burgers.
I've been watching some streams with some total war veterans and even they can see how bad it is.
The three of you are three of the people I'm talking about, constantly going on and on posting and reposting in this thread over and over.
Suarez, as much as I love the TW series, I'm by no means a blind fanboy. I'm not saying the fact it has technical problems is acceptable nor that there aren't problems in the UI. What I have a problem with is people talking about these negatives like they make the game a 0/10 or that they cannot be fixed with patches or time. Yes, ideally they shouldn't be an issue at all, but has there been many games at launch with no issues?
Metacritic is hardly reliable in my opinion because much like this thread it's inundated with the loud, angry customers who had problems and decided those problems meant the entire game deserved 0-4 scores, and the people that didn't have problems aren't rating it and thus the ratings are temporarily skewed while launch problems are waded through.
As for Jono, you may be right that you might have technical issues. How do you know, though, if you don't mind me asking? It seems to me (just on first glance, I admit, I don't know about your circumstances) that you've read these guys go on about technical issues and decided you will get them too. Unfortunately that opinion seems to be prevalent, whether it is true or not.
By all means express your negative opinion, but be fair and balanced. The game, even with current issues, is at the very least a solid 7, and will easily become and 8/9 when launch issues are patched (or if the performance issues are fixed) As I, and plenty of others have said, I don't have performance issues, or if I do it's not noticeable to my eye, and I am quite anal about that.
