Rome 2 : Total War

I have actually quite enjoyed tonight's stupidly long and late session on it. Might wear off soon I'd imagine but I have been concentrating on building my economy up first. The few battles I have had have been great, kinda.

I'd love an option for classic or capture points, the new system is retarded at times, went to siege a city didn't realise there force garrisoned was twice the size of mine. Thought id wait it out but they attacked they had troops waiting in every street apart from at the docks so I sent one cavalry troop down that way and send the rest right down the middle. Battle was over before the first slinger fired as my cavalry waltzed right into the capture point and wasn't even contested.

In an open field battle both armies about 2000 man strong and im defending so I set up defensive position on a hill and start, didn't realise there was a capture point in the middle so then im rushing to get there but I lost the battle and half my men without even fighting... Capture points need like 200 points not 50 seconds. Gives more reason to dig in and defend and gives more of a chance for the defender to gain advantage.

my only issue is diplomacy, i'm yet to have anyone agree to anything for example, i put up a peace treaty and some coin and get rejected instantly, next turn they come at me with a peace treaty and demand a fraction of the coin... i just dont understand lol apart from that i absolutely love it!

If anyone else was waiting for Amazon dlc codes, they are now being sent by email (finally got mine this morning).

Mine arrived this morning as well, still playing the prologue as I haven't had as much time as i would have liked but I think it'll take me a while to get my head around the changes. Just like it did with Shogun II.

Well why dont you go and talk to people on TW Center or the official total war forums....oh wait you cant because those are filled with people complaiing about the game and the performance.....funny that.

Why don't you go to TW Center or the official forums to moan, and leave the OcUK forums for people who actually want to have meaningful discussions about the game rather than the "I CANT PLAY. THIS GAME IS RUBBISH" talk that you and others have filled this thread with.

Had a few hours on this last night and love it. The gui takes a while to get used to but I'm finding my way round and no performance issues.

Looking forward to playing it tonight.

how does producing food reduce moral and create public disorder? I would have thought that an abundance of food would make people happy

I see it as the higher up the building chain you get, the more intensive the farming methods used are and its that the people oppose to. Either way its easily balanced out by having a building that produces public happiness per town/city :)

After uniting all of Great Britain under the Iceni I have now ventured accross the channel and encountered the Frissi? who appear to have conquered most of Europe apart from the costal nations. Its getting tough! :(

Oh god ive found another thing to moan about xD, playing as Sparta I ally with Athens and take on... forgot there name, they are orange and just north of Sparta. Athens are a state of Macedonia so I declare war on them to free my friends from oppression! running low on funds so thought id better start some trade only to find I cannot trade unless I own Athens. Im being forced to turn on my allies to progress and that makes me a sad panda.

Read what you just wrote - does not quite make sense.
