Brilliant. So 40 minutes in and I had enough and was slaughtering the AI ans the game crashes.. Very, very frustrating. Especially as that was the 2nd siege that the enemy had performed in their turn so I'll have to replay both the 1st and 2nd sieges...
6 hour marathon session... That''ll have been about 10 turns then.
A turn barely takes 30-40seconds on mine. Guess I am lucky?
Garbage.
The turns times aren't too long, it's that people these days have zero patience. The 'stare at screen all day' generation have lost the ability to entertain themselves for a few minutes. Let's say a turn takes 5 minutes (it doesn't on my PC) i'd pick a book up and read a few pages, but then again reading books is another lost art for most people.
The moment some people lose contact with a screen, it's like their world has ended. The moment a screen isn't entertaining them they are lost and bored.

As you discover more and more factions that will slow down significantly trust me, its not luck!!!
I shouldn't have to though. If I want to read a book, I'll read a book. It doesn't take me 2 minutes to turn a page once I've finished one.
I don't mind waiting a little for the turns to finish, but it is getting a bit ridiculous at times. This nothing to do with patience, its to do with wanting to play the game I paid for.
yeah, turns really do take a lot of time, especially when factions start to attack you, and you have to defend mid turn.
takes up a lot of time.
Yeah but the battles are game play really, not turn time.
I can live with the low-ish FPS, but the turn times are doing me in...
My i5 is sitting at 70% when idle on the campaign map, coincidence? Possibly explains why turn times are so long 'cause there isn't much left for the turns.
