Ronaldinho says - no English team will go through

You mean like Chelsea made the first leg a non-event, and annihilated Barcalona in both possession and skill?

Possession and skill mean squat - you have to get the job done. Chelsea did, Barca didn't. I don't see how there can be any complaints

Chelsea won't win it, he'll be humbled soon enough.

like mourinho was humbled last season in the champions league?
or like he was humbled the season before that, in the uefa cup?

i dont see anyone good enough to beat chelsea in the CL unless something freaky happens.

personally i think Milan are the only team to compete with Chelsea. They were amazing in the first leg against united. Juve were good, but against a poor madrid. I wouldn't bet against Liverpool doing a Porto/Greece though. Leverkueusen(spelling) were pretty poor though.

all this talk is just responding to the resuls - you cannot tell who will win - the draw is the key to the champs league

milan would beat a big team in my opinion but could lose to juve as they are in same league - which makes a difference

lyon have looked good all through the season and in a phase of defenisve football have played some great football. if they keep their heads they could beat anyone.

Posession and skill usually get the job done! It was only down to exceptional defending!

He wasn't in a position to be humbled before.

If you can't see anyone good enough to beat Chelsea you can't be looking very hard, Milan have got the quality and experience to dispose of them without needing anything 'freaky' they did it two years ago and they have many of the same players plus added quality like Stam.

Chelsea do look a decent bet but it a lot comes down to the luck of the draw, not every team is going to be so easy to hit on the break.

Are you president of the Official Mourinho fan club because if you're not you should be ;)

Personally I think that if they come up against Milan, Chelsea have very little chance. Milan are better than them defensively and better in attack. You might think Chelsea are better in defense but considering they defend with 75% of their team behind the ball most of the time I don't think they are better, Milan are much more intelligent in defense and look at how they took your lot out of the game. Apart from the Giggs shot hitting the post you did not have a single shot on target. You had RvN, Rooney, Giggs, Ronaldo and Scholes on the pitch.

Chelsea are imo a team who sit back and wait for teams to make mistakes in attack and then attack them, I don't think there is much invention in their play. Milan aren't as naive as most of the PL sides or even Barca and they won't fall into Chelsea's trap, they have to put up with that kind of stuff week in week out. Milan are such a canny side, they always have answers to whatever questions are posed. Apart from one horror show last year they have been superb in the CL over the last 3 years and should be going for their 3rd CL in 3 years but they just had one of those days in Spain.

Finally.
Someones said what ive been thinking. :D

Its funny though, how everyone but Chelsea fans think that they`d get beat by Milan.
Personally, i think that Milan are just better. Simple as. :) But thats just me.

Milan are the best the tournament I agree. However, I don't think they're that much better than the others. At this level, and this stage in the tourament, any one of them could win it. Chelsea could beat Milan no problems if they played to their full potential......so could Liverpool for that matter. They're all good teams.

Well heres to hoping for a chelsea - milan final :D

As Curio just said though, its come to the stage where any team can take it, they are all good enough but it depends a lot on the draw. But which team would you bet to make the least mistakes and be the most consistent and be the toughest to score against, im thinking milan, too much quality and experience on that side :)

hey, im not a chelsea fan. in fact, all london clubs make me sick. im man utd through and through. im neutral in the CL now, with a little bias towards english clubs.

i believe chelsea are favourites for this years champions league, barring any freaky stuff.

i actually think milan would have a good chance of beating chelsea over 90 mins, but over 180mins, i honestly cant see how milan could win. especially once robben (chelsea's most attacking player) returns.

when barca were 2-1 after the first leg, all of u were saying that it might be asking too much of chelsea for them to overhaul barca, but i honestly couldnt see how chelsea could lose. im actually shocked that chelsea arent gonna do the quadruple!!!

hehehe, and im not a fan of mourinho, but i do acknowledge a good manager when i see one (he has made one mistake all year - making 3 substitutions at half time, vs newcastle). similarly i acknowledge that robben has been one of the best players in this years premiership (when he doesnt play, chelsea struggle to score goals (unless they play barca)), even though neither is under the employment of manchester utd fc.

i may not talk much about man utd but i am dissapointed we got knocked out. man utd supporters cant really complain though cuz milan deserved the win. our defense gave crespo too much time on the ball (both goals) and our finishing wasnt great. we lacked creativity. the only teams who i feel wouldve knocked out milan are hard attacking teams (like man utd or barca) or very defensive teams who will play to win 1-0 (like chelsea or juventus). i dont see milan getting beat by anyone else.

the thing is if chelsea and milan play and chelsea take the game to milan then milan will turn them over. if chelsea play a tight game milan will turn them over too. chelsea stand a chance by simply staying in the contest but milan are the best team in europe in imposing their style of play on a team.

and although chelsea did barca, they were lucky in the sense they converted all their chances and took advantage of poor team defending. however, chelsea did not look comfortable on the ball. cole was the best player in possesion and even he lost it. italian teams do not give up possesion and can play or hit you on the break.

I think its funny how some people are saying Chelsea would get beaten by Milan, when I've seen the same people previously saying they would get beaten by Barcelona.

I think Chelsea and Milan are the two strongest teams in the competition, but even then, I still think its possible they could lose to another team e.g. Juventus.

Glad to see my two outside bets (Liverpool @ 31-1 and PSV @ 89-1) both through to the next round :)

If Collina hadn't made a mistake right near the end they would have got beaten ;)

I just thought in the 2nd leg Barca were just terrible in defense and Chelsea found it too easy just to go straight through their defense in the first 20mins. Even when it went to 3-2 Chelsea couldn't get near them for long periods and Cech kept them in the game, Barca had like 66% possession and a pass completion % of something like 80%

English teams are always favourites with English bookmakers so I wouldn't pay any attention to that. I'm sure Italian bookies rate Milan as favourites. I don't think Spanish or Italian bookies ever had Arsenal as pre-tournament favouries like our bookies do so regularly.

i dont think any bookie should have arsenal as favourite to win any european tourney. these statisticians who work for bookies never seem to learn about arsenal's incompetence in europe.

while wenger and the current crop of players are playing for arsenal, they simply cant win (or progress past the quarterfinals) of the CL, no matter how good they are playing domestically. all the other teams in europe raise their game on those big, atmostpheric european nights. arsenal on the other hand dont seem to be able to do this.

if henry, reyes, viera (oh damn, i forgot how his name is spelt lol) et all, want european honours they must move to another club.

sorry arsenal fans...
