Rooney - 2 B Sold

BREAKING NEWS:Rooney admits personally he wants to leave!
Apparently he met Gill last week and wasnt happy with the future plans etc.
Still in two minds if i want him to go to city....despite the reports saying utd will do whatever is possible to not sell to us, im sure 40m+ will change the Glazers.

Make it £38 million and you can have gary neville as well.

How is it extremely unlikely? A few years ago it would have been mental to say we will sign Robinho,Tevez,Y Toure,Silva etc within 3 yrs.

40m and you take RSC?

I just think its extremely unlikely, Rooney is theoretically one big level above those players.

Also, I would assume he wants to win things, what have you won so far? Oh yeah, sod all.

There are far better clubs than Man City interested in him, even if its for a bit less money. I cant believe he is 100% money orientated.

Oh yeh forgot about those trophies clubs have won already this year:rolleyes:....how about looking at the future like Rooney is and seeing that we are going to be a strong team winning things unlike utd unless there is some investment.

Many cities lack of trophies wont bother rooney, he is looking for a club with ambition. Liverpool would be top of the list along with staying at united if he cared about that.

Man city are on the up and have plenty of ambition/money to work with.

Can only really see Rooney leaving to Barca/Real or another big foreign team tbh. If it's not down to money but 'ambition' as he has apparently said - surely only really Barca/Real/Inter or something? Moreso the first two.

If i were Utd I just wouldn't play him, start planning around not having him till January and decide who to buy, if reports are true I imagine it'll be going back towards an earlier linked player, Benzema or someone. Does Fergie normally spend big in January? Can see him wanting probably 2-4 players if he sells Rooney.

It still might take you quite a while longer than he wants, you (and I) dont really know, but we have to wait and see.

In my opinion he will not go to Man City, he could, but I dont think he will.

Chelsea are a far better option and they apparently have opened the door for him, if he was to stay in England. They can match Man City for money to a certain extent with ease.

Rooney has won everything in England so if he stays in England he just wants more £ , that's only reason I can see him sign for Chelsea or city .

Quite probably not, he will get lynched by the fans.

He also probably would put even less effort in than he is already.

Why would he get lynched?

He was in talks to sign a contract that would tie him down to Utd for the peak of his career. Surely you can't blame him for wanting assurances over the direction of the club? He's not refused to play or disrespected Utd in anyway.

If he turns around and threatens to buyout his deal or let it run down if Utd don't sell him to X then fair enough, lynch him.

I wouldn't lynch him personally, but there are plenty of fans who would, you know what folk are like.

We'll have to wait and see what happens I suppose. Its all very odd.

I've just seen his statement and if it is because Man Utd aren't going to buy any world class players in future then I cant blame him to a certain extent, but that could be lies, you really dont know.

I've no interest in seeing him play again to be honest. Making a statement about footballing reasons and ambition is hardly a surprise but it doesn't really mean anything. Play players who want to be at the club.

Rooney just sounds like more of a **** the more you read :/. Don't even support Utd, but wouldn't even mind seeing Rossi back!

Fergie to sign Benzema/Forlan?

you really dont know.

Exactly, nobody other than Utd and Rooney know the truth of the matter. But as yet, I can't see what Rooney has done wrong.

I guess we'll find out in time and if Rooney joins City or tries to force a deal through against Utd's wishes then he deserves all the stick he gets. If he sits tight, acts respectfully to Utd and waits for them to accept an offer they're happy with and then decides if he's happy to join that club, then you can't really criticise him.

To be honest, I just see Rooney as someone that wants to win things with what ever club he's at. If Gill can't give him the assurances that money will be spent to improve the squad then he will look elsewhere for that.

I wouldn't write Man City off either, they're more likely to win trophies going forward now than Man Utd.
