Rooney - 2 B Sold

I do agree with him, both are incredibly well known but I'd say Rooney was more widely known, especially in this country. Being on the FIFA box helps along with various other marketing.

As I say, that's a nothing point, I don't even know or care who is more widely known, I doubt there's a football fan anywhere who knows one but not the other, but I thought it was wrong for him to say the Fab didn't get much coverage when it was everywhere for 2 months, it only comes second to the Ronaldo one imo (recently)

Don't know if its been mentioned.

But my money is on SAF and Rooney planning this together to entice the Glazers into putting some money into MU. Would've been a cracking plan.

It must be great living in your deluded world :D

If he is prepared to screw over his wife then he is easily capable of bending Utd over the table. The funniest thing is that the Utd fans still like him after this.

If he scores goals again, what's not to like? And in fairness, it might have done the club some good.

I like how its all the other fans who are upset he signed a new deal, that just really says it all :p

Will be interesting to see how this pans out now, will Man Utd splash the cash as they must have made some commitment to sign big name players to Rooney, will Fergie get shot of him anyway for crossing him?

Hopefully transfer window / Rooney to Real for 60m / Glazers take cash / Taggart quits / United fans to tell us how they don't need either of them anyway :D

The genius of Wayne Rooney:

1. Wayne Rooney wants to leave Manchester United because Manchester United are not signing enough top quality players.

2. Manchester United sign Wayne Rooney to a long-term big-money contract.

3. Wayne Rooney thinks Wayne Rooney is a top quality player.

4. Wayne Rooney is happy.

so we do have the money to fund purchases? or have the Glazer's been forced to drastically alter their plans because I'm sure people were saying we couldn't afford to service our debts and wouldn't be buying players. I'm also sure that a lot of the people saying that were telling us that the fact that Rooney was leaving was a sign of our lack of ambition and proof that we did not, in fact, have the available funds to give him the assurances that people seemed to trust he required.

Perhaps they just lied to him to get him to sign a new deal so they don't lose too much money on him.

Perhaps they are going to borrow more money.

The next 12 months will tell you if Rooney was right and the club lacked the funds to match his ambitions.

copypasta but still :D

or if he just wanted a bigger contract and a lot of people on here were wrong? 12 months seems a fair time to revisit yeah?

If money was the only motivating factor he could have just waited until the summer and made himself the richest footballer in the world.

Naturally he wanted a plus up and why wouldn't he, but I don't think it's been the biggest factor in this whole fiasco.

I just hope he can now recover some sort of form, now this has been put to bed.

Here's how it worked.

1. Wayne Rooney's agent persuades him he could maybe get a better deal elsewhere. He starts teaching him phrases like 'lack of ambition' to be rolled out for the media.
2. Alex Ferguson thinks 'enough of this crap', and calls a press conference. He goes public with his version of events.
3. Uproar among the media and the fans. Questions asked about whether Alex Ferguson has lost it. Articles about Rooney's arrogance - thinking that he is too good for a shirt worn by the likes of Ryan Giggs etc. Ferguson sits back and lets it all happen.
4. Rooney craps himself. Decided to signs for another 5 years on the great terms Man U had offered.
5. Media frenzy over, Alex Ferguson remains the greatest man manager of all time. Rooney is now suitably humbled and no other players will take on ferguson for some time.
EDIT - forgot 6. If rooney still decides to walk his new team now have a 5 year deal to compensate Man U for.

So you think Rooney signed the deal he was offered in the first place?

I don't.

The papers have been full of BS, they are now saying Fergie has been promised 60 million in the next transfer window.

I'd say Rooney got exactly what he wanted and so did Ferguson. As for being fit to wear the shirt worn by giggs, I'd rather shag whores than beat women.:D
