Rooney - 2 B Sold

were liverpool willing to offer something astronomical for a player who could walk out for free 6 months later?

no.

are we debt ridden and in need of money?

yes.

Rooney wasn't free to walk 6 months later

If the club needed money that badly then he will still be sold but you dont know if that will be the case anymore than me

well buying out his own contract for 5 mill is virtually free? in the relative scheme of things.

A- there is no way that would have happened. The club would have dragged it through the courts to stop it

B- had Rooney been for sale in the open market then there is no chance Barcelona or Real Madrid wouldn't of been in for him as well so the club would have just shipped him off to one of those

So, now that you are not buying Rooney, does he go back to being "over rated, lazy, out of control and past it"?

Answers on a postcard.

Yet another player whos only interest in City is using them to get more money out of their own clubs.
Kaka, Terry, now Rooney.

The Kaka story always makes me smile, dragging a City delegation all the way over to Italy, then just....................leaving them there all day and ignoring them.

You weren't in the first place. We'd had never of sold him to another Premiership team, christ we wouldn't even sell Heinze to Liverpool so City had no chance of getting Rooney

You state that as fact. In reality none of us have any idea if he had a chance or not. In fact logic would suggest there was far more likely to be some chance than no chance at all.

Don't know if its been mentioned.

But my money is on SAF and Rooney planning this together to entice the Glazers into putting some money into MU. Would've been a cracking plan.

Whos trolling now? you dont have to respond to everything you know?
Anyways:
Does anyone know what Rooney's wages are now?...I still expect a 'Ronaldo transfer' in the summer to Real.

Even if he does go in the summer, United are going to take somebodies trousers down big style with the fee, again.
I have never said that about Rooney and never heard any city fans say it tbh...Although plenty have used the same words talking about Adebayor.
Pretty good plan tbh?
It cant be more than Ronaldo surely? especially after everything that has happened?

no idea what half your post is on about????? u been drinking??

but yes im pleased and now the club are back in charge and can sell or play him, its no longer upto Rooney or his agent to dictate. i hope he gets his head down and starts scoring.

ok. i'll sum it up in a few words; you got played and bent over but the fans love it

oh sorry i can't state facts?

During the summer long speculation, right in the middle in fact, he did the small task of entering a deadlocked WC final and playing the pass which won the WC, the kind of 'worldwide' exposure that Rooney or England will never achieve. It's not a competition and I don't want to really dispute who's the most popular, it's impossible and disingenuous, they both have millions of admirers, as do the entire Barcelona team who repeatedly spoke to the press about how much they wanted him to join.

Also, some of your other comments were silly and not really worth responding to. But remember that slightly above average team is cruising in Europe and above Man Utd in the table as it stands (yes only 8 games I know)

1- no where in the official statement did Rooney say anything about his current team mates that was just media driven talk so may well not be true

He himself suggested the squad wasn't good enough to compete after this season. It's logical to assume he's talking about his current team mates.
'I met with David Gill last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad.'

I only say things to put it into perspective that Rooney isn't the only player to act this way. Fabregas kept the whole world guessing all summer long whether he was willing to stay at Arsenal or not, I also mentioned Gerrard's previous, not my fault that you're a touchy little sod that throws a paddy anytime the whiter than white Arsenal are spoken about

Ok

Very true but at no point did I make a direct comparison soley between Rooney and Fabregas you're just choosing to pick on that because you're a gooner.

'To me what Rooney has done is no different to Fabregas' - you. I thought you were wrong.

Seriously? The pass was really nothing special  I think the finish was a little more important to winning the world cup.

I never said it was good, certainly gave him a worldwide stage, it's the biggest game in the world.

Jimlad was suggesting that Fabregas doesn't have the same platform as Rooney because he doesn't play for Man Utd. But he played in the biggest game in the world, that was my point, it's a rather large stage.

Edit - reading my post again I never gave the suggestion it was good? I just suggested it's the type of situation that gets you noticed

I don't think it made a bit of difference

Iniesta was the one who got all the headlines, I barely even saw Fabregas mentioned.

Fair enough, I thought it was widely known he assisted the goal. Maybe I'm wrong. It's a moot point, Fabregas has done enough other things with a football to be known world over. I'm yet to know a football fan who knows Rooney but has no idea who Fabregas is, much less missed the hundreds of headlines over the summer, so not sure what Jimlad meant by it not getting the same coverage, it got loads, way too much imo!
