Roy Hodgson

So nothing to do with the players playing so bad? A manager is there to put a squad together but the players still have a job to do on the pitch and haven't performed, as the guys on Soccer Saturday have just said, the players are not good enough and most should hang their head in shame at their performances!

It's the managers job to get the best out of the players. The same players done far better last season and in previous seasons, why can't Roy get them to perform?

And you listen to the likes of Paul Merson and Charlie Nicholas? Would explain a lot of your views I suppose.

Hearing some of Liverpool fans on tv/radio you lot are as deluded as the clowns up here who thought bringing Keegan back would solve the clubs problems. Going to a manager who hasn't done anything since the Liverpool job and hasn't even managed for about 8-10 years

you will stay up because of a dew quality players but be prepared to be a mid table club for a looooooong while yet. Every team above you in the league and even a few below have MUCH better squads than Liverpool and as this season has clearly shown you cannot just rely on 4 players to drag all the dross you are carrying along with them and with Carra starting to draw his pension, Torres no longer interested you haven't even got them 4 anymore.

Wish you luck but you need to redesign your squad again, back to basics and ship out the dross and you will need LOTS of luck to get that done over the next few years.

Just want to reserve a special lol in here for an IRL friend of mine who is a Liverpool fan and on hearing the news boldly declared that Liverpool are now certs for the cup double and 6th :p if you lot get top 8 it would be a massive acheivemevt for you never mind 6th!

Its a bit of a leap to declare that "us lot" are as deluded as "some" fans you have heard on the tv/radio. Care to explain to me how *I* am deluded? Seeing as I qualify as "you lot"

The defence were ordered to hoof it whenever they got the ball. This completely bypassed our midfield and meant Torres and Ngog were constantly challenging for aerial balls. How are those 'tactics' ever going to get the best out of players like Gerrard and Torres?

Masch Alonso Gerrard in the middle earned you second place.

Like when we beat our title rivals and won several games without alonso, gerrard wasn't playing every game too, nor mascherano.

Although I guess if people watch sky sports and listen to redknapp and co. Alonso ran the match vs manu

For some reason ive got flashbacks to 2008 and Keegan going back to Newcastle, dont think Roy was the only problem Liverpool had.

No doubt about it, but he added to the problems and was taking an underachieving side and managing to do ever worse than most thought possible.

Nobody is expecting Dalglish to pull a rabbit out of the hat and get us into the top 4, but I've got no doubt we'll improve on what we've seen so far this season.

Did he not win the league with Blackburn and manage to take some **** North East side to 2nd in the league and a FA Cup final?

Forgot about Blackburn :p

Newcastle should have won the cup and arguably the league that year the squad we had. Most fans agree those days (and end of Keegan era) were disapointing considering the quality we had.

Still he's been out of the game for too long similar to howKeegan was. It's the whole "inspirational figure" thing which is not really the greatest foundation for taking a club forward.

Ah okay sorry, they weren't important at all, my fault, it was Arbeloa and Kuyt that got you 2nd.

According to sky sports probably not.
The other day sky sports said we were 5 points behind Chelsea and 5 from bottom. Nothing like letting the truth getting in the way of a good story.

This. If the only thing Kenny does in the next five months is tell the players to play it to feet we'll see far better results and performances.

Roy could do far worse than take a year out, buy himself a computer and learn about modern day players and tactics on Football Manager 2011.

Slight differences though, Keegan had literally been out of the game, Dalglish hasnt, he has been involved with football professionally almost for the duration and as I said before he probably knows more about the club and the squads strengths and weaknesses than anyone else they might have brought in. Also Keegan wasnt brought in as caretaker, so Keegans remit was to advance the club, Dalglish isnt there to take the club forward as such, he is there merely temporarily to hold the reigns until a permanent appointment is made. So two different appointments, with two different aims.

I am not expecting Dalglish to go on a massive unbeaten run and take us to 4th in the table. Thats not going to happen. I am however expecting Dalglishs appointment to lighten the mood within the club and unify things, hold us steady while a good long deliberation is undertaken for a summer appointment.

But will they understand him? ;)

I just struggle to see who will cone after and if Dalglish can actually improve things.

He may well do, and if I am wrong I will eat a serving of humble pie :) personally I just see it as an appeasement appointment to calm the fans down as things are poor for lfc at the moment.

Johnson hits back at sly sport critics

Glen Johnson "Comments from alcoholic drug abusers are not really gonna upset me and who is Paul Merson to jugde players, he was average at the best of times"

"the only reason he's on that show is because he gambled his money away...the clown"
