$600 for a non Ti 4070, $700 for AIB models aka £700 OCUK currency....for a 70 class card. Just pathetic all round. Such short termism is what's ruining the world. Make a quick buck and have no forward thinking anymore, all about the here and now.
Isn't that what in most countries is known as the Anglo model of business? :D

The mobile RTX 4070 is based on AD106, so I don't think it's comparable to the desktop version.
I’m not comparing it to the desktop version. I was answering the point around shader counts dropping between generations and how that will play into the desktop 4070 having less shaders than the 3070.

Moores Law is Dead is reporting the 13th April release of the RTX 4070 with a price of £750.

Would you buy a RTX 4070 at £750?

Personally no, might as well buy a 4070 Ti for £50 more, if can find it at that price, or just buy a 7900XT.

Another supposed leak (from random youtuber with "contacts") that is gonna end up being wildly wrong.

True, but given the pricing for the 4000 series so far it was not totally beyond belief, which is what is really depressing.

So you are saying he was okay to make it up because given the history it was plausible.

2 days ago he also posted a video saying it could e $650, $700, $730 or $750. Covering lots of bases and still completely wrong.

No evidence it was made up but he was wrong and that happens when dealing in rumours but what I was saying was that Nvidia's actions and pricing on the 4000 series did make the rumour not totally implausible, which in of itself not good either.

I think it shows that the techtubers and tech journalists don't have any real sources.

If they did, then how come they got the specs of the RTX 3000 series basically completely wrong.

Genuine leaks are probably much rarer than many people seem to think.

You can become a source too. Just send emails with "leaks" and claim you work for retailer and somehow this retailer has the inside track.

All of their sources are employees at stores.

MLID also made a video claiming the 4070 ti wasn't selling well. This was after a large german retailer was publishing data showing lots of sales in the hundreds per week). He then claimed this was wrong because some people in individual stores in the US were claiming they weren't selling out.

Then the steam hardware survey came out showing lots of sales globally.

These days almost non-existent - things like NDAs and fragmenting information so less people have full details, etc. means it is quite rare.

Back in the day there were a fair few people working in game design as part of the nVidia The Ways it's Meant to be Played program, etc. who'd have access to upcoming GPUs or information about them months in advance, now most of that is black boxed and/or handled in house by nVidia.

Sometimes things change and what was reliable information at a certain point is no longer the case come release, etc. especially when it is last minute branding changes, etc. but with MILD it is obvious very little was real information at any point - I think he has exclusively covered 2 genuine leaks in the whole time he has been making videos.

Hah we had a pallet load of Fermi cards come through where I was working weeks ahead of launch with the prices and specs printed on the outside of the box - doesn't happen like that any more.

New RX 6800 XTs are going for ~£550 now, finally below their MSRP in the UK (which would have been around £580).

Used going for £500 with warranty.

If the price falls to £500 new, Nvidia will actually have some competition from AMD's 1440p capable cards.

RTX 3080 new prices still awful.
