*Rumour* 1070 Ti (Videocardz.com)

That just sent me down a google rabbit-hole....
Think I'll stick with PC gaming...

£150 on controller which could break after 3 months leaving you at the bottom of a rabbit hole.

they are notorious for breaking and there is no come back either. SCUF's customer service is one of the worst you could imagine. i know a guy who ended up getting so used to the SCUF he was garbage without it. as soon as it broke his k/d went downhill fast. he simply had to buy another one.

Nvidia reduces price of regular GeForce GTX 1070

http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-reduces-price-of-regular-gtx-1070,2.html

With the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti being released/available seems to have the effect of a price reduction for other cards. From the looks of it, the regular GTX 1070 has now dropped towards $329 and $399 for the Founders edition.

NVIDIA did not announce the GTX 1070 price cut, reports techarp, however, you can spot that they cut the price of the GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition to just $399. The GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Founders Edition will launch at $449.

We doubt a little that you will see AIB GTX 1070 cards at $329 USD though. I expect it to be more in that 350~375 regions. But who knows.

Hmm, that is how much a Scuff controller costs?

What a surprise, a retailer wanting to gouge for a bit longer :D :p

Given how well the 1070 has been selling, there is no reason for them to drop the price.

Is this a good upgrade from the 670? Thing is i just bought the witcher on steam for a good price and i turned hairworks off and put everything else on ultra and i i get around 30-50 dipping to high 20s sometimes. I guess when i get to novigrad it may dip even further.

Is it bad that i have played through 1/3 of it on ps4 pro and now i am starting over with noticeably better visuals even at 1080p..

Of course, going from a 670 to a 1070 is a huge upgrade assuming your cpu can keep up and you have 8gb+ ram, you will be able to play at max graphics at steady 60fps, in my opinion it is well worth the buy just for this game alone.

And it doesn't matter if you already played half of it, I finished the whole game 3 times now and still love it. Also consider all the other great pc exclusives.

Yeah i want to get back into pc gaming after an 18 month break. I’ll just use the pro for fifa/exclusives. I have an i7 3770k @ 3.9ghz and 16gb ram.

I just upgraded from something similar 280x to a gtx 1080 it's massive jump and at 1080p you never have to worry about settings just max everything every game.

My cpu and RAM was an issue with the faster card my 4 core 3570k is flooded all cores at 100% and my 8gb ram also running near full, you should be fine though with a i7 and 16gb. Your i7 would probably need higher clock though looking at it.

Though that Razer controller is about in line with those prices and it is wired.

it's not as good. it's a different shape too iirc. people prefer the shape of the original.

the problem with SCUF is they have very little or no warranty and they aren't exactly made from parts that last long. they are expensive but if you can take full advantage of them and are a high skill player then you will see the full benefit of the cost.

i know a few guys who bought 2 instead of 1, so they have a backup in case it breaks. expensive but these guys play daily and are in the top 1% of players. they could have went pro or even semi-pro but for some reason they aren't interested or just don't know how to market themselves well.

well i know 1 of them is held back by the fact he's on ADSL. he doesn't have the bandwidth to stream. he can just barely play games it's that bad. he's an absolute monster on Destiny though. it's not surprising to see him with a 5+ k/d at times and he has a 3+ k/d overall in trials (the hardest PvP game mode) and that is with him carrying people too.

He could even charge people to take them to the lighthouse to re-coup costs yet he does it for free. So he's happy with his lot so to speak or he just cannot be bothered. Maybe he see's it as a hobby a release from the real world and doesn't want it to turn into a job. However spending £300 on a couple of controllers isn't exactly ideal.
