I did sharks from 90-99. made profit. and its faster. Use cooking gauntlets of course.

I'm not a member, so lobsters are the best thing for me! I think I will join again for one month in summer, just so I can clear out my bank lol.

Didn't realise bonfires give better exp, so recalculated my goal (and more accurately).
7.5k lobsters from 73 to 80, 6-8 hours.
25k lobsters from 80 to 90, 20-25 hours.
60k lobsters from 90 to 99, 48-55 hours.

Total cost should only be about 1-1.5m.

How the hell does anyone solo Nex? She's a complete monster. :o I'm guessing it's just down to how much you miss and how often either of you crit? That and good gear, resources etc. and good micromanagement. Same with the Fight Kiln though (and the Fight Pits, I still struggle to get to Jad!) there has to be some solid way to beat them, because so many have. I just don't see it. :(

If you can afford it best way to farm is fruit trees and normal trees. Do one before you go to work/school and another before you go to bed. Then do what ever you want in between.
 
You can now buy 'Bonds' in game (Currently seem to sell for around 8m) which you can use to redeem things like spins, runecoins but most importantly for me, 14 days membership. This means that if you don't want to pay to play old school Runescape you can log into a F2P world, buy a bond, redeem it and basically play for free. I have 100m on my RS3 account so I could theoretically get around half a years membership without having to pay :).
 
I have gotten back into this. After raging many years ago when I lost my green mask.

Slowly making money again. What is the best way of getting money these days? Runescape 3 looks a hell of a lot different!

I am just cutting Magic Logs out the moment, and then selling them for about 1.5K at the Grand Exchange.

Donations are accepted for the 5UB fund. :D

Make sure you do the kingdom quests, keep the upkeep at 100% and collect every 30 or so days. I can link guides later when im not on my phone.

Also in RS now you can buy certain items from NPCs and sell them for a profit at the GE. These supplies reset daily so a decent profit can be made everyday.

These items are; sand, seaweed, pineapples, battlestaffs.

I wouldn't say it's sorta died, it's dropped a few subs overall but the change has attracted a ton of new players while older players have left which is awesome. The game is better than ever because you don't run into quite as many stuck up nonces with absurdly expensive rares and pitiful god complexes. Infact the last guy I ran into with a Phat was actually incredibly polite and didn't act at all like an elitist *****. I think most of them are gone! :D
 
Theres been a lot of improvement for me over the last few years, the main ones being transport & dailies system.

Dailies give you something different to do for a good exp/spin reward. Lodestones make transport much easier.

Plus if you like the old style runescape you can go back and play 07 classic.

1) Merchanting
2) Killing frost dragons
3) Killing QBD
4) Killing Tormented Demons
5) KILLING ANYTHING. High level PvM or merchanting are your best bets.
