Runescape

I played Runescape obsessively several years ago. I burned myself out on it though, with the constant skill grinding. Power leveling to 99 mining and smithing honestly felt harder than a full time job. Its only the fact I was off work on incapacity benefit following surgery that gave me the time to do it at all.

I've been away from the game so long I think they've probably took away my player mod crown by now. The economy was already unbalanced back then, so I can only imagine what hell its turned into now.

I just looked at Halloween Mask prices ! They've skyrocketed so much!!
Just before I stopped playing about 3-5 years ago, I should have bought one because I had enough money for one, possibly two.. I'd be so rich by now!

"Drygore" is a class of weaponry dropped by the Kalphite King. They do a lot of damage and cost a pretty penny too.

Kalphite King? Oh how things have changed since I last logged, Did try to play again but it was just too time consuming. I came back for a week, did 90-99 fletching and then quit again! Shame my account is probably worthless now after 3 years of service.

Do miss the game but I think it's past me now, Hoping the Elder Scrolls MMO revives my MMORPG needs!

Less powerful than a Dragon Battleaxe though. DBA is far superior as far as cost effectiveness goes, the only thing the Drygore gear has is 2,000 accuracy compared to DBA's 1200. Drygore costs 80M+ and 2.9M to repair when broken which is absurd, for that kind of money they shouldn't break.

Dyrgore Weapons absolutely destroy Dragon weapons. Don't know what your smoking.

I've tried the HTML beta. Its an impressive outlook for the future of RS. But it has huge leaps to go in terms of performance before its even remotely useable. 10-15FPS on a 4Ghz i7 and 7970 lightening.

A good glimpse of future visuals for sure though.

Colours look better, quicker loading, new map.

Not too much change

ooo 1440p support

Interesting... looks ok, The current RS does 1600p for me.

I'm hoping for good improvements to RS3 to enable it on Tablets.

thats a pretty good improvement in graphics i played it obsessively 7 years ago

i always remember when i first played it i came across a guy who was mining and he paid me to drop off the ore and collect more and paid me 500g each time was pretty chuffed :D

It really doesn't. All weapons in the EoC are the same speed, and the Dragon Battleaxe has higher damage than any of the Drygore weapons. The DBA is EoC's strongest one-handed weapon, it just doesn't have as much accuracy...

With that being said, a Godsword is by far the best weapon in the game, as it has the same attack speed as a Dagger.

Explains why we're all using DBAs at nex and KK and QBD.

oh wait...

DBA has
Damage: 894
Hit bonus: 1147
Style: Slash
Class: melee
Speed: average
-----------------

Drygore mace/rapier/longsword
Damage: 864/1102/1102
Hit Bonus: 4957/4957/4957
Style: Crush/Stab/slash
Prayer bonus: 9/0/0
Class: melee/melee/melee
Speed: Fastest/fast/fast

So while the DBA has a higher damage than a mace. Its half the speed. a fifth the accuracy. has no prayer bonus. Far less actual applied DPS

Damage is not the only factor in a weapon.

Of course not, it's accuracy is it's downfall with high level enemies. Just pointing out that they aren't worth 80M when they are weaker than DBAs, the Runescape economy is hilarious.

EDIT: They nerfed the DBA? When I last played it was 1K + dmg. :(

BTW attack speed doesn't mean anything when attacking abilities give all weapons equal speed.

But they are worth 80m. Thats not a lot of money. And for a weapon able to do the maximum potential damage against the targets its designed for (max level targets) its spot on.

best damage.
Cheap.
High level.

Whats wrong with that?

And while the mace (70m) damage is lower. the rapier and longsword are both higher damage than the DBA. And faster and more accurate.

It's a lot of money to most people. :p

Drygore are still pwn't by Godswords though unless a shield is necessary. Damn tempted to get back into the game now. :(
