Russian airliner missing over Egypt

Let's not forget, when the Moscow theatre was taken over Russia's premier counter-terrorist team decided to just gas everyone in the place with a super-secret aerosolised anaesthetic, hostages included. Then, because it was so secret, they didn't tell the medical teams on stand-by what it was which in turn led to 130 odd of the hostages dying from the effects of said agent.

So God knows what they'll unleash on IS if it does turn out to be a bomb that brought the aircraft down.

We fight them with one hand tied behind our back by treaties and conventions. Russia don't care about any of that crap.

I think your confusing a lack of caring with incompetence.

Think people need to calm down a bit, Putin is not going to nuke the Middle-East because of this. No-one can predict what he'll do but imo it'll take more than Russian brute force and ignorance to resolve the global jihadi problem. It's worth bearing in mind that since Russia started airstrikes in Syria, Islamic State have gained more territory.

Whilst the security at Sharm looked impressive I wasn't convinced earlier this year. Instead of our taxi being searched a heavily armed policeman just hopped in because he wanted a lift to the terminal.

Only because Russia have been targetting those opposed to Assad and rarely targetted IS. IS aren't solely focussed on Assad which has allowed them to fill the voids left by Russian airstrikes.

The only thing Russia will do now is focus a little more on IS because of the Russian public expecting a reaction which will play into the Americans hands as they won't take the brunt of any claims of civilian collateral through airstrikes. The US will make all the right media noises about Assad but ultimately won't do anything as it means they can withdraw the millions of dollars they've thrown at the rebels for no return and let Russia get bogged down in a middle eastern engagement.

Europe won't say a thing because Germany will veto any further actions or sanctions against Russia because they will be the primary beneficiaries from the second Nordic Stream pipeline which means all Russian gas supply will go directly to Germany and they will hold the control over energy being forwarded onto the rest of Europe which strengthens their position as the head of the EU.

While no stone is being left unturned, here's another one:

Assuming that the cabin crew started heating food as soon as possible after takeoff, 25 minutes into the flight could conceivably be the time it takes for the food heaters to reach high temperature. One (or more) of those food packages could have been a bomb - disguised as a meal (breakfast?) – detonated by being heated to a moderately high temperature.

So obviously it would have happened in the rear galley, and powerful enough to knock out the rear section.
