Ryzen "2" ?

No, not hours and hours.............................days lol. Must admiit, i'm not too far away from that at the moment but still get intermittent errors at varying stages. It's always down to a very small adjustment though. It's just so much fun playing with ram...............havn't had this much fun since the NF2 days :D
we R similar in this respect. Took me what 2 weeks of daily tweeking to find timings volts settings ect to get this 3533cl14 hoing but the satisfaction is here :D.
well cant wait to see what will You get from phase change .

Seen that prototype phase chanfe case from der8auer?? Shiet would be tempting. Vaporo chill case 2.0 :D

remember those ??

Always wanted one :D

Well if You would have same problem with C6H that would be user error no other option,

If it goes for HOPE FOR FIX. Well so far we had 0 NEW bioses for C7H since I'w gotten mine thats 7 weeks.
so Good luck with that with product from last years lineup..

Nothing wrong with this user's ability, I've been doing this for a long time. My power level must be pretty high.

Lets see how things go with the new board.

finally got around to setting up quick set system - will need to be striped out for my own board and loop done as a single piece later (board and AIO off to a friend. can see were i ran out of clear fluid and has a cup full of white pastel left to chuck it in the gpu loop haha)

UUkRb9u.jpg

slapped in SSD that had windows installed with B350 drivers and just went and did Cinebench r15 for a quick test to see if CPU mount is fine . max temp 40c and idle 25c . ran 3.3ghz all cores. everything in bios is default- look forward to the joys of playing around with the 4000hz 8-Pack ram set :/

Yours rig makes mine look super tidy :D with 4000mhz 8 pack I'd say start off with calculator and 3333 fast setting :)

if the kids ever give me a chance to try it out =/ haha

Seen 3533/3600 running on the 7 using the Calculator but oping the 'budget' ultra does well

think i'll just slap in 360 45mm in the front, link the silent loop and block together and use fill port from the res as im lazy :D

worst was , trying to find the XFR2 to see how entry aorus vs flagship aorus performs. finally found it as my lunch break was coming to an end haha

cinebench/realB was pulling 3.3ghz completely stock so be nice to see how XFR2 does for the average joe and then under a lot of water :D
power of 3 silent wing 3 fans at 100%

C7H so far had 3 Bioses C6H i had around 15 sometimes 2 bioses to test A WEEK. Alpha ones beta ones fixed beta ones ect

Most of them I have used except the very early ones and the latter couple. :D

I have stayed with 3502, 22/01/18 because it just works.

When I get around to buying an aftermarket cooler I will try for higher clocks, but for the past year all cores at 3.6 and now 3.7 has done the job.

yeah definite room for improvement there. Mine did 3.8 with the stock cooler on a B350 board and 3.95 on the strix with a good AIO.

Will you get ryzen 2?

I will skip a generation I think. I will definitely stay with zen processors though on current and recent performances. 14 months on and I am still happy with Ryzen.

Yep, remember them well. They couldn't pull the skin off of a rice pudding :D. As i remember they were ok for single cores, but forget anything with any more. The first phase i had was a Mach2, then a Yohan SS..............built all my own since then though.

Hey lads, I've made a post about this already on the RAM forum but I may get more of a response in here. I've bought all the pieces for my 2700x build except for the RAM, which after reading this thread and a few hours has just caused me more concern than anything. I'm not looking for anything crazy and I won't be Overclocking my CPU for a few years at least (running stock cooler for now), so I was considering just getting a 16GB 3000 kit. Do you think there would be much difficulty actually hitting that rated speed without much fiddling about? I was considering this here https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...al-channel-kit-rgb-black-tf1d4-my-08j-tg.html

On the stock cooler you will reach the rated clocks anyway on the 2700x, it's a good cooler and does what it needs to do to reach AMD's advertised speeds so no need to overclock anyway. Good ram at good speed and timings will give you really good boost in all round performance, even more so with Ryzen.
Your choice of ram would not be my choice. If as you say you have read this thread, you will know that B-die is the ram of choice with Ryzen. It clocks like mad, is very flexible with voltage and timings. In your case, even if you don't want to overclock the ram it will run at very tight timings at 3200.

No! That's c16 timings- that'll be Hynix chips. They're the ones causing (most of) the problems.
Spend a bit more and get a c14 kit. These are Samsung 'b-die' chips.

I got this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...3200mhz-dual-channel-kit-black-my-08l-tg.html

I was one of the folks having the grief earlier in the thread. Couldn't get the 3200-rated Hynix stable at anything over 2133.
Dropped the 8Pack in, straight in at 3200, c14, no issues at all.

It's a lot of money, but I'd recommend biting the bullet and saving yourself the hassle!
Should be a tad cheaper for 3000, but if it's only a few quid, go for the 3200 is my advice...

That's an issue that shouldn't even exist in the first place, seems like it's the platform causing the issues not the RAM itself.. Won't be going AMD if it's still like that next year. RAM is already expensive, now you have to pay over 200 quid on a 16GB kit just for it to work properly?

Indeed Perfect Chaos, RAM should just drop in and work.

Sadly, there are some teething issues. There's the occasional hiccup with b-die, but the vast majority of issues seem to come from Hynix kits.
Hopefully BIOS updates may work for some, but I doubt they'll solve everything for everyone.

I'm sure that 15 MONTH's would have been more than enough to fix compatybility with Hynix IC's ??
Anyone thinking it will get MUCH better in next month or 6 months can keep on dreaming.

Problem is with AMD's Rambus design of IMC simple Zen 1 and Zen 2 both use SAME IMC. Zen 3 ?? Who knows....

Yeah that's honestly my take on it - this platform is well over a year old now.

Thanks for the RAM suggestions guys, unfortunately since I'm a complete idiot aesthetics are important to me so I need to go for an RGB kit. Is there anything suitable then with that in mind?
