Think its time for an upgrade as they said X370 wont support zen 3
New shiny stuff time again. Means I can move some stuff over to another rig.

Its going to get expensive. New CPU/MB/RAM, New GPU 3090/6900 and a HP Reverb G2Planning to build a new system as well with a 5900x and asus tuf 3080 OC. Think im going to get ASUS's new crosshair VIII dark hero x570 when its released and should support zen 3 out the box.
A butterfly flapped it's wings in a secluded part of the Serengeti, which led to a 0.5 knot increase in wind speed in the South China Sea, which inadvertently knocked a seagull off the roof of the container that is currently making it's way to us, loaded with these CPUs. The subsequent burial at sea has led to a small levy on the cost of the CPUs. It didn't help that the exchange rate flickered just as the levy was being decreed.
OcUK have terrible luck when it comes to product launches.

Wonder if they're limiting IP's to the site at launch. Saw Gibbo mentioned 10,000 people viewing the 3070 page just now, so you can imagine how many people tried in total - I'd imagine if you skipped on known ranges outside of the UK, you'd end up with a much better experience.
And even if they do have "thousands" in stock, say two thousand? How fast does does that sell out? Five thousand? Ten thousand?
Also is it thousands of every SKU, or thousands all together? If they ordered 500 of each that's still 2000 CPUs total, but 500 of each SKU is not enough in the slightest
You are both wrong. I suggest you watch his later video where he corrects himself:
I certainly hope so.
But part of me thinks they won't care, at the end of the day it's a business as long as they get their money they won't care if 5000 are sold to individuals who will use them, or to 5000 resellers.
I also have concerns over stock levels, Gibbo said "thousands" well firstly as others have mentioned there may be a difference between how many OCUK have ordered and what they actually have in stock to sell.

Yea, unfortunately not the smartest approach. Limiting to IP, they'll likely still sell-out, but provide a positive customer experience because my current plan is to have multiple stores open and whichever one works, gets my money.
+1
Not going to place multiple orders like some people, but definitely will try to go through checkout in multiple places and whichever succeeds gets my money. It's just business
I think they are literally forbidden by AMD from doing so, otherwise they would have done it already. It was the same thing with Nvidia, retailers were literally forbidden from taking preorders.I mean I will probably do the same giving OCUK first dibs if you like.
I think it might get frantic though with websites crashing etc. I don't know why they can't just do a pre-order system, would make so mu h more sense?

AMD have specifically encouraged retailers to setup a reservation/queue system for out of stock products.
