i just went on another websites forum, and a guy had a few 5600x's for sale

no idea how he got them

when i upgrade next year i was thinking 3600
, but now im thinking 5600x ?

Well I guess they would, as it's classed as 'non-essential' items. Unless they let you buy them on the 4th and ship them on the 5th?
The "non-essential" restriction has only applied to actual physical shops before, even in the middle of the previous lockdown you could order whatever you wanted online. Don't see why it would be any different now. I suspect shipment might be delayed by a day or two, but there is no restriction on shopping online nor was there one before. If you look at some competitor sites they are already saying that they are extending their warehouse shifts to make sure everyone can distance safely and properly and that orders can still go out on time.

Same here.

I've got some budget to pick one up and the fact it's a drop in upgrade makes the decision so much easier. I can honestly see it being the final piece to see me through for the next 2 years minimum.

However, I'm reading some good reviews regarding the 5600x, so for a purely gaming rig would that be a better choice? Or is 6 cores too big a step back?

I just noticed that OcUK shop site now has Cloudflare DDoS protection. Definitely a step in the right direction in regards for preparation for Zen3 release.

Hoping you guys have also upped the resources on the web server.

What would be the logical upgrade for me? I have a 2700X and was leaning towards the 5600X and X570 board unless the B550 (I think it is) would be sufficient. I don't plan to overclock as I've never done it, on the CPU anyway.

Thinking about price to performance but want to keep cost down, so B550 is looking likely.

B550 has 5xxx support out the box right?
