What are your memory timings.? I only tried first XMP profile so far and there are 3 to choose from.
My ram is 6000cl30
Yes definitely spend a bit of time tuning that memory and bringing that memory latency down as it always improves frame time, (Now if you'd only got the Z690/13700k you'd have no issues at all - kidding. :D)

Welcome back @LtMatt ;)

Share a zen timings screenshot with me and I’ll give you some timings to try. I’m running 6200C28 with tuned seconds/third timings.
I'm using those Buildzoid timings he posted a while ago, reckon you can give me better timings, I've got Hynix M die.

I have a second that I ordered at launch (it was in stock at the time but they never delivered and moved it to pre-order) and it turned up a week or two ago.

I actually meant to cancel it but forgot so will be selling it.
Let us know when its on MM :)

Oh for sure I will. Not a fan of memory tuning but definitely will go around doing it eventually. Had my Samsung B die tweaked as much as I was able to. It did take a long time.

Resolution in LtMatt's video is 1080p though. Isn't your stuttering at 4K? I have your same stuttering at 4K. It's possible that frametime is much smoother at 1080p.
Nah that’s not it as if you look closely at my previous video the GPU usage is between 52 and 67% so nowhere near maxing it out.
Anyway that video was recorded when running 5800X.
Here is a video recorded when running 7800x3D at 1080p with settings on high and textures on ultra.
FPS is higher but stuttering is almost as bad as before.
I will try tweaking memory and if that doesn’t help install fresh os.

You should be doing a fresh installation of Windows as standard when you plug in an X3D.

Maybe but that’s a very hard pill to swallow as reinstalling everything and setting it up the was I want to will take ages.
I will install windows on a spare drive and compare it. If it runs the same I will stick with my old operating system.

Windows 11, right?
Yes, it's faster than Windows 10. Not a huge amount in it, but games are definitely a few frames faster in my testing of Win 10 21H1/H2 vs Win 11 21H1/H2.

If you want the best, use Windows 11 21H1.

I understand, but then you may have to accept lower performance etc.

Yes indeed it can take a while to tune memory but I perversely enjoy the process. :) My DDR4 is at 4300C15 (Z690 - [email protected]) and I have no stuttering at that place and frame time is fine. I'm pretty sure you can eliminate it with your 7800X3D with a fresh install of Win11 and memory tuned.
