Will you be purchasing the 7800X3D on the 6th?

Realistically what improvement would I see upgrading from a 5800x3d/3600CL14 to a 7950x3d with decent 6000 mhz memory when graphics bound with a 4090? I suspect it’s minuscule.

The performance difference between a 5800X3D and 7950X3D is massive.

How well Nvidia drivers and game leverage the extra performance is the question. That side, if I paid the insane asking price for a RTX 4090 I’d want every last drop of performance I could muster from it.

@Poneros Thought you might like this one.

Think RPL just got KO'ed. Not much time to go through all the data atm but 7950X3D doing much better than I though it would. Intel on its ass now until... 2025? 2026? Not sure what use case is left for them anymore (just NAS maybe). At least for me it's now AM5 as a clear choice, just not sure I have time to make use of it so might want to wait for Zen 5 and do a complete PC re-build. You getting a 7950X3D btw? Have some ideas for mixed-use tests.

I am so happy I decided to simply pop in a 5800x3D and not wait for the 7800x3D!
Me too. I might still be tempted but I think I’ll upgrade later in the cycle.

I have an x570. This AMD support for older
Motherboard generations isn’t really worth too much I think. Who really has an x370 or x470 these days.

So I’m not keen on buying an x670E when I’m future years we’re going to get the x770 and x870.

I reckon my 5800x3d will be good for another year and I’m starting to wonder if some of the optimisations that AMD are making with these new 3D chips will also improve my chip too.

Yes, I'm ordering at least two tomorrow hopefully. I got the worst bin 7950X possible so this time I want to see if I can get a somewhat decent sample. :)

Where is that result from dude? I wonder if they did not have Gamebar running, or didn't install the Chipset drivers or use the Balanced power profile to have a odd result like that.
Saw that in Optimum Tech's video - surely that has to be some sort of driver related issue with the new 3D chips..?

MW2 is a really AMD favoured game so we need @LtMatt to start testing the new 3D chips with his 400fps benchmark with the 7900XTX.
Ah nice one dude. You can be sure I'll test that and I have my 7950X data to compare to.

save the money and dont get sucked in with 720p benchmarks, in reality without looking at FPS counter I bet you wouldnt notice the difference
