I doubt it, what's he supposed to do? Turn down a job like that because of a loyalty to a club that fired him? For the second time...
As above, if he just left to join United then yeah, there would be uproar.
A few bookies have suspended betting on Mourinho taking over at United. And twitter seems to be full of people claiming Van Gaal has already been sacked.

Huh? Mourinho is very rich, will earn lots in the future, doesn't give a **** about the man who just sacked him and wants to manage United. Nothing you have suggested is even a little likely.

In fairness, Mendes wouldn't come out and say Mourinho has been offered the job when LvG is still the manager. That wouldn't be good.
It feels like something is brewing, I suspect the press conference tomorrow with LvG will provide further clarity, assuming he's still the manager.
I think they're reluctant to sack him really, but a negative result against Stoke will leave them with no choice, even if it meant Giggs.

I've got a horrible feeling that if LvG doesn't lose all the games over christmas he will be allowed to continue until the end of the season. Either that or the messiah will take over and ensure our mediocrity for the next few years.
Much as my patience with LvG has all but run out. I am not sure that Jose is the right man for United. He is hardly well known for his entertaining football. He even made Madrid look pragmatic at times. He is such a polarising figure also and quite often shows a distinct lack of class. He has gone down in my estimation.
I would take Mourinho simply because he will restore some belief, win us trophies and attract top players. I have zero faith that we will appoint someone better if we don't get him. My biggest fear is that we will let Giggs loose on the team for a few years.
We are in the **** position choice wise of being so bad that we will struggle to persuade any manager that come the end of the season we will have CL football so I fear if we don't get mourinho we will end up with another second rate choice if we wait until the summer.
