Yep

Can't see us beating Stoke away. And a part of me is hoping we don't and get beaten badly just so he'll be gone

Same here really, it's just like with Moyes; except he's an experienced top level manager and has spent a load more money.

£250m odd spent and look at the dross we're having to endure. There are teams with a fraction of our budget who are infinitely better to watch, and more effective as a team. It's pathetic.

Moyes would've done better with that money and he is still garbage.

LVG got pretty lucky how weak the league has been, also don't think you have bad players so should be simple enough to turn it around for a decent manager and some more spending

LvG just stormed out of his press conference after asking for an apology from the media. A man under pressure.

Pretty clear now that he'll be getting the Stoke game to save himself, which is a frankly ridiculous situation to put him in, and won't change anything either way.

You were saying...

Not a happy man...

Obviously looking forward to the Stoke game.

Agreed. I think the man has such a big ego he will walk before he's pushed. Oh noe won't someone think of the grandchildren! **** off you old irrelevant dinosaur. Your time is up. The only reason he lasted longer than Moyes is the state of the league and his ability to bluff the press much better than Moyes.

Van Gaal said his family and friends had been adversely affected by the criticism and rumours Jose Mourinho was poised to replace him.

"What do you think happens with my wife or my kids?" he snapped.

"Or with my grandchildren? Or with the fans of Manchester United? Or my friends? What do you think?

In fairness to the media in attendance, none of them have said he's been sacked, just that his job is under serious threat (which it is, or should be).

Quite a sad video really. :(

Pretty sure every one of those parties are thankful they won't have to watch the ****ing garbage he delivers, whether it be on the pitch or in a presser. Its quite surprising that for someone I know who holds them back massively I want to never see him again, such a nob.

I know that as a United fan these rumours are hurting me. Its like being told you are going to get an Xbox for Christmas and then being told your SNES is perfectly fine.

I feel a bit sad for the guy but he has made a hash of things and needs to go. At least this confirms that he will be here for the next game or two.

poor analogy; snes is waaaay better ;)

He should be apologising to us for serving up this 'football'.

If he fixes it from now on, fine, but what are the chances of that?!

Hes just been waiting to reveal his master philosophy after Christmas and we are going to dick on the rest of the league now. Rooney firing on all cylinders, Mata a man posessed, Jones not a dribbling idiot. Its going to be immense.

So here it is, TRM's Xmas verdict.

What are the board waiting for? We haven't won in 6 games, got dumped out of the champs league. It was the easiest group on paper and in actuality and somehow we threw it away.

So what if we win game 7? Does it erase all the badness before? Does it signal a change in the 'philosophy'? No it doesn't. He should already be gone.

Let's review the transfer ins so far:

Di Maria - flop
Schneiderlin - no idea what this guy does for a day job, gets schooled by a 33 year old Schweini - flop
Rojojo- flop, rash, will be gone soon
Depay- flop, 30 million? I reckon he's not far ahead of bebe5000 but costs 4 times as much
Blind - flop, midfielder? Defender? No one knows, he's like o'shea but occasionally pulls off a 70 yard pass

Damian - looks useful. Dropped not sure why, one mistake doesn't seem to cost anyone else their position.
Martial - 5* skills. Looks the real deal
Schweini - good, showing age, expensive luxury. Limited impact due to ineptness around him. Clearly still a good player.

Hernandez, sold on when we lacked strikers. Not sure why but clearly that missed penalty was too much for lvg, showing what he can do with a bit of confidence in Germany.

Overall, the worst football I have ever seen at old Trafford. Terrible spending. Bringing ... Nick Powell on in champions league after zero premier league minutes. Imagine it was hernandez, lil pea might have scored.

There is no redeeming nature to lvg. No glimmers of hope. When you are losing and get a throw in the opponents half and pass it all the way to your keeper to boot up field you already know the game is lost.

Firstly, I do not think Louis Van Gaal is the 'right man' for Manchester United.

Secondly, a much more general point, is that no manager actually has this '<insert number of games here> to save your job'. If a manager is not working, then the club looks for a replacement/upgrade/guardian one or two wins will not solve the problems of a club.

There's only 1 man for the job tbh. Mike basset, 442. We don't know and can't play any other way with this core of players.

What core of players are you talking about. If you look at the players left over from Fergie we have:

Rooney
DDG
Jones
Smalling
Carrick
Young
Valencia

Rooney is just **** these days. Nothing to do with tactics, he has lost his pace, his drive, his passing ability, his first touch and control and his spirit.

DDG is as good as ever but doesn't really have much say in tactics or formation.

Jones is perma injured and not used that much when he isn't.

Smalling has been good but again he has very little to do with our formation.

Carrick hasn't played that much as has been suspect for years. He has only ever performed vs rubbish opposition who sit off him and let him play at his own pace. I don't think any formation makes much difference to him. If anything he should be better in a possession system.

Young has been quite good even when pushed about the pitch and I don't think he has any problem doing whatever he is asked.

Valencia is just an awful footballer and wherever he plays he is just bad.

So why can't we buy a goal using 541 and still concede?

Tika taka football club we are not. Pace, power, width, classy strikers is what we have been about in terms of our success.

Just look back, Sharpe, Giggs, kanchelskis, jordi cruyf, ronaldo. Only exception being becks, but his crossing, free kicks etc and just enough pace made up for it. There was even a point when head down, kick the ball hard into center of box valencia was being lauded by utd fans on here.

Of course willing runners from midfield help. When our midfield could guarantee 20 goals a season combined with 40 split across 2 strikers you knew we had goals from everywhere and firepower to overwhelm the smaller clubs.

Do we have anuy of those things right now?
