Daddy stroll eurgh. My money, my skills.

Checo deserves a drive he said, just missed off but I binned him off for my inferior son.
Cringy but he kinda has a point, he didn't get where he is today by not being good at what he does.

Perez totally deserves a seat, but can you honestly expect a dad to sack his son after he's supported and nutured him throughout his driving career?

Stroll saved 200 odd jobs. Granted he could have saved one more (Perez), but when you invest so much I can understand the reasoning for Vettel, even if results might not be as instant.

It's not often multiple world champions come on the market, and aside from the obvious marketing and sponsorship opportunities that it presents Vettel also brings the experience of spending 12 years in championship winning teams and knows how a team operates at such a level.

Racing Point couldn't even make basic strategy calls until recently (nor could Ferrari to an extent hence Vettel overruling and questioning them so frequently in the last 24 months).

I don't think Vettel is any better than Perez in these cars, but he does know what it takes to win championships and with him Racing Point ought to be stronger in terms of having a solid base to build on than they would be without him. It's about building a platform rather than instant results. Vettel might not be the one to profit from them, but I can see why he's attracted to them and they're attracted to him.

Obviously yes, if it was pure performance based then it would be Stroll getting dropped, but I'll take having Stroll and 200 jobs and a team on the grid.

I guess no one will call into question why Lewis at times questions the pitsops so much.
It wasn't the pitstop, it was the mess of a pitstop. Russell would still have been in the lead had it not been for the mix up of tyres, and who's to say he wouldn't have picked up a puncture had he stayed on the tyres he had on at the time.

That said, for all Mercedes were on the ball all weekend (realising early in the weekend they had enough time for three runs in Q3 when no one else did) they made one heck of a basic mess of allocating tyres in the race.

Oh crap... Looks like disqualification is looming for Russell for using more that 13 sets of dry weather tyres in a race weekend.

We'll see. I think that they reacted so soon (even during Bottas's stop seconds later) they'll (rightly) get away with it with a fine and/or reprimand.

It's not like they gained an advantage from it. They lost 1st and 2nd to 4th and 5th, and even before Russell's change and subsequent puncture Bottas had exited the pits on the same tyres he entered the pits on.
