Samsung 24" and 27" CFG70 144 Hz / 34" CF791 100Hz VA FreeSync

Can someone kindly update as to when you are expecting these in stock as I have found stock else where but I am trying to stay loyal to OCUK. :)

Customer services don't usually trawl the forums looking for ways to help (if only). You'd be best served by leaving a webnote, or just calling them. You can call until 5.30 today.

I have done webnotes, only get 'should be in soon'.

Given the price, I'm considering picking up a 43KS7500 and creating a custom ultrawide resolution. Not sure though. Just seems you get a better quality panel and more for the money. Input lag on the TV seems very reasonable

Consider the option of the 49KS7500, because it has 120hz refresh rate. The 43KS7500 has 60hz.

And yes considering myself to grab one :)

If you have the space available then that would be a great pick! I ended up going with the 40KU6400 due to how close I sit and pixel density. I also considered that I think HDMI 2.0a doesn't support 4:4:4 @4k 60hz with HDR. So HDR for gaming on pc is a no go until a new standard comes around

True, 4:2:2 at best. However there are no better 4K monitors either, because these are no go for HDR gaming above 3440x1440 res.
DP1.2a and HDMI2.0a is at best what monitors have at the moment, with the same caveats when comes to 4K as the TVs.

And the CF791 looks like it has as big input lag as a TV atm (around 20ms), if the posts from owners in oc.net are correct.

So the options are, either grab something that's cheaper eg a TV, or wait another two years!!!!!!

I thought ALL TV's were limited to 60Hz at 4K anyway due to the HDMI limitations. So even if the 49KS7500 has a native 120Hz panel, you're still stuck at 60Hz for 4K content. Nevermind the lack of any adaptive sync tech at present. As mentioned, we really have to wait for what we want... TV's are tempting, but are an imperfect solution.

Caved in, put one pre order :( . I see stock started showing up on other shops, I'd imagine OcUK will have some in very soon.

Not interested in free sync myself as I'm on nvidia so hopefully the panel quality is good.

Why you don't wait for the gsync version later this year?

Personally don't think the price premium is worth it at the moment. G-sync is great, I hope more tech like it get put into monitors and tv as standard but I think it still needs a lot of development work. G-sync and free-sync feel like "mods" to me rather than incorporated if that makes any sense, games flicker on load, tweaking settings, need updated firmware etc.

I receive my C791 tomorrow morning which I am a little bit excited for. I own Nvidia cards so I will not be able to test for the Freesync issues however I can report on all other aspects.

If the rumours are true about EVGA supplying VEGA then I will be moving over for sure.

You just destroyed my GFX dream :D

Was good thing tbh. Can you imagine EVGA AMD Vega having the same issues as the EVGA GTX1080s?
Instead of EVGA all the heat was going to be directed against AMD.... No need...

Scramz, what monitor you replaced with the CF791? Could you please write a quick review please about colours and response times?
I would appreciate it :)

Haha funny that, I have got 2 packs of heat pads and TIM from EVGA to apply to my 1070's lol.

I am replacing a ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q. I am not very good at reviewing, however, I will do my best to give the important details.

I am going from a 1GTG to 4GTG so I may see a slight difference but that will not bother me as I no longer play heavy competitive games anymore. Only FPS games are like Squad and BF. I know I am moving away from G-Sync but I am not too bothered tbh. Maybe Vega will tiggle my fancy.

Please do update us, I'm hoping its minimal but not expecting to be like a TN. Did you change your order to somewhere esle to get yours?

I will let you know how it feels to me. I did change as I can be impatient lol. When I want a new toy, I want it now!

Lets get cracking

Ok first 10 min impression. WOW!

Off the bat I will say if you are competitive CSGO player type of gamer then this is not for you.

As for the curve, made my eyes go a little weird like cross eyes at first but after a few mins that went away. The curve does make gaming every immersive, best I have ever seen.

Black light bleed is there but look no where near as bad in person.

Excellent for productivity, one of the main reasons I wanted it.

Oh, no dead pixels but cant test freesync as I have Nvidia cards.

Ignore the desk, progress in work!
