** Samsung 830 seres SSD, CRAZY PRICE ** READ POST 342

Finally some success!!!

Getting all these damn updates installed and all my programmes.

Hopefully, my graphics issues should be sorted out too :)

Unfortunately, I got distracted on YouTube so i don't think i'll be doing mch more windows work now...

Glad your getting somewhere...

I've been gaming on it today... No real load time improvement over the m4, its the general windows use that feels nippier.

With there being no real read speed difference between the two in sequential reads, I didn't expect there to be an noticeable difference in game load times, I just thought it was worth mentioning.

Love the way it's made... I've had quite a few SSDs and this has stood out as the most well made, that lovely metal cover... I was sad to hide it away.

It really doesn't feel like a value drive, quite the opposite.

Another's days use and I maintain this drive is a little bit quicker than the m4 :)

I'll be buying some more for other machines next month, got speakers on the way :D

Best bang per buck SSD out there at the moment at this price, IMO.

Yip I agree totally well made and better looking than most

I wonder if I'll notice any difference between my OCZ solid 3?

All my game were stored on my KCZ Onyx 2 so hopefully there'll be a noticeable difference there :D

Ps, your sig is a line too big :)

You can check driver version from Device Manager > IDE/ATAPI Controllers. Mine is listed as the Intel Storage/AHCI SATA Controller.

Driver version: 10.8.0.1003 released on 17.10.2011

Driver version: 11.0.0.1032 released on 29.11.2011

Hmm where did you get the newer driver? Intel's site showing the one I posted as the newest!

The newer driver is available from Intel but it's supposed to be only for Intel manufactured motherboards.

Got mine installed and running

Zero problems during fresh install.

PS: Dont use the sata to usb cable bundled as a converter for a sata 5" dvd drive :D

EDIT: I just noticed some are showing 1024 - OK and some are 103424k - OK in the AS SSD screenshots. Why are they different ?

Oh where did you see that? My website? :-D

I'll install the new driver in that case ta!

Driver updated, new result:

My controller is listed as that in Device Manager, fingers crossed...!
