you shoulda told me to get bent and use google :P

it looks a nice phone, i would have to see some decent pictures of it in real life tho... and not those photoshop air brushed pictures.

Im trying to find a new phone that is smaller in every dimension than my k750i, yet still has a decent 2 megapixel camera

lol, openly inviting ridicule on yourself, I will remember for the next Q you ask on the forums ;)

I only know its available as obviously the OP has posted that he has the phone and I also have been checking online for the last 2 months waiting for it.

I rang o2 yesterday to see how much it would be and its only £30 upgrade on my cheapo £20pm contract. They dont have stock til 21st though but thats only online, they may have some in the shop.

I had a k750 and although a good phone it was limited and the joystick sucked. I got a xda mini on my gf's upgrade last month so this is for her. I assume its around the same size as the d500 etc.

PS google it nub ;)

Much slimmer and sleeker than a d500.

Let me know if you want more pictures.

Those are great, the gf has a d500 so this will be a good comparison for her, just reminded me to ring o2 up and order it!

How have you got on with it over the last week or so VIRII?

Well I'll start with the bits that I feel could be improved.

Firstly - fingerprints, I keep feeling the urge to polish the damn thing lol.
Secondly - the touch sensitive parts seem a bit overly sensitive, but that might be my shovel hands at fault.
Thirdly - the camera isn't as instantly on as I'd like it to be, there's a short delay (probably the case with most phones).
Fourthly - the actual pictures taken if sent to another phone seem to resize themselves as if going from portrait to landscape and have more detail in them to the sides than the original.
Fifthly - I want to set custom sounds to any event, not just incoming calls etc. I don't think that everything can have odd sounds, eg incoming email. Might be down to me not reading the manual though.
I suspect the 3rd and 4th points are something to do with the way that I have things set up in the options and not really the phone being odd.

Other than that I love the phone. Bluetooth canes the battery though. It has replaced my E700 as the phone I actually use the most. In the past my new phones rarely got used as the E700 is practically a part of my body as I have had it so many years and used it for so long. So to take pride of place in my pocket the E900 has done well.
Oh scratches .... I never used to worry about the E700 getting scratched and it used to go in with my carkeys, but the E900 gets its own pocket, so that is an endorsement.

All in I rate it pretty highly and I'm a tad critical lol. I think the camera is very good too, VERY good indeed.

Cool, glad it didnt turn out that you hated it!

I can imagine the problem with finger prints etc would be annoying, but I guess its "new owner syndrome" we all get :p

Overall you do make it sound like a good phone, always best to get info from someone who has the actual phone for these things. Camera looks good, although I do question your choice of subject :p

Rang o2 and they now dont have stock til the 26th :( Ah well as long as its here by July Im not fussed. will go into town this weekend to have a look at it up close.

Glad you like it, I was worried it would just be another faddy phone but you have convinced me that its a good investment over other phones.

Has anyone rang up vodafone by any chance to see how much it is upgrade to this phone? I'm only 6 months into an 18 month contract with vodafone but the joystick on my k750i is starting to get stuck and I'm think about changing phones.

a lot of people will get this phone for free on upgrade, i'd say if you spend £40+ a month, but dont quote me!

I bought the Z540, because the E900 wasnt in stock on friday, and I thought it was really good, but yesterday trhe e900 came in and i swapped it straight away, its such a nice phone the menu's and the screen etc is really cool! I recommend it!

The mother in law is always a good photographic subject

*you need a striking subject with lots of detail and colour to really show what the camera can do, pictures of carparks etc won't really draw the eye in :p *

Where can I get some simple plain and functional ring tones, failing that the sound of the tardis... ;)

I have an 'old phone' (classic ring) ringtone that I have transplanted from my beloved T610 (my personal favourite all time phone) - you want?

Yes please mate, everytime my phone goes off I look around wondering who isn't answering their phone.

Looks like a really nice phone!

My girfriend is looking for a new phone. Would be perfect for her. Surprisingly, I found you can get it for free on an £20 O2 12 month contract! (1000 off peak minutes, 100 tests)

what about sound quality? what's the mp3 software like? what's the biggest card it can take? can you make custom themes for it ect ect

Sound quality through supplied headphones seems fine for music.
Calls seem clear and apparently I sound clear too.

I have a 1gb microSD in mine, not sure if that is the largest it can handle.

Custom themes? You can assign ringtones to people, pictures as well, stuff like that. Not suire what else you have in mind but if you go into detail then I'll try it and tell you what happens.
