well, really i mean designing your own custom screens for the phone. The w810i for example is fantastic in this respect, you can change the colour of everything from the text on the screens to the scrollbars, using custom background for jsut about everything.

a couple of captures from the sony theme creator software. The original 'orange' theme is at the top. The 2nd pic is what i threw together for the gf's w810i. you can change virtually everything, and that really appeals to me. Can you do anything like that with the e900?

Afaik the answer is no. There might be some apps or similar on the Samsung Fun Club site but I've never really got into phones to the degree where I'd customise it like that. Then again I guess if I had a phone with the option I'd have borg'd it by now.
I'll have a look around after work.

just upgraded to this phone on Vodafone for £5 and I am on a £15 a month contract

Hi, I just rang up vodafone and they said I couldn't upgrade until 2 months before then end of my contract :( . I'm currently 6 months through an 18month, £20 per month contract. How did you manage to get the phone for £5?

thanks :)

I think vodafone won't allow people to upgrade their phone if they have more than 2 months left on their contract (well that's what they say on their website) which is slightly annoying because I don't mind paying a reasonable price for the E900 :(
I may trying ringing them again and be more forceful with the issue

got the phone today from vodafone and it looks fantastic. Only problem Ive been having is that when using the navigation buttons, mainly when pressing right or down, I keep accidentally brushing against the 'C' cancel button which chucks me out of whatever I was doing :( .

That happened to me a fair bit when I got it. Not so much of a problem now even though I have gnarly hands.

Thats why I never take an 18 month contract, 12 months is long enough and usually a new phone is out in that time to change to. 18 months is just too long on the same phone.

threaten to leave the network saying you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Works everytime

Well vodafone used to let you upgrade after 6months, but now they seemed to have changed it

Thanks for the info, I was meaning does it just play 3gp (quicktime mobile version vids) or does it have support for other types. Probably will just be 3gp but you never know.

It plays 3GP video as i transferred them from my old phone (Z500) to the E900 and they play fine, but videos taken from the E900 are saved as .mp4 format so I am guessing it supports MP4 as well.

Just got my e900 from dialaphone this morning. I love the phone, however there is one thing that i can't work out. On my old d500 when you close the phone shut, it displays the time. How do i enable this sort of thing on the e900, when i close it and after the backlight has gone off, it just looks like it is turned off.

I am at the end of a 12 month contract with Orange.

Thing is, there are several deals around with this phone where you get several months free line rental, 1/2 price line rental etc. Some websites I have heard before, and some are pretty unknown to me.

I dont wanna get ripped off from some fake site, so where would people recommend I go to get this phone for the cheapest price? I need at least 500 texts a month though, other than that I dont mind ;)

Just got it from orange, upgraded3 months early for free :-) 500 mins 500 texts free insurance, £25 per month.

I could get it direct from Orange I suppose, but it is tempting getting it through a 3rd party website when they are offering all these free months line rental etc. But then it depends how trustworthy some of these websites are, which is why id like to see if anyone knows the cheapest place to get one, with all these special deals floating around.

I got it directly through Orange themselves, was on a £50 a month one, but then downgraded to a £30 a month 6 months ago, but now the good thing is that the 12 months have finished. Id be mighty tempted with that £25 deal, sounds really good for a 12-month one IMO! Where did you go through?

Please tell me either which website or which number you phoned to get such a good deal as that? I think with that kind of deal I wont bother with all the free line rental sites as this price seems special, especially if it is for just the 12-months, as the 18-month ties are getting more common these days
